Issue with Plex after latest update

Featured Replies

So admittedly I didn't think this through very well and ended updating both unRAID (b15)and plex (what ever the docker update is) right after each other so I'm not sure which caused the problem...

But ever since the update I'm finding if I don't use plex for a number of hours (say over night) I cannot use plex until I log into the web management for my tower, stop the docker and then start it back up.  After that it'll work perfectly fine until it sits in active for a period of time again.

When I do log into the tower ui, it says the plex docker is active and running (shows green circle).  But if I try to access the plex ui from my pc (through the docker drop down or typing in the it'll). The plex ui doesn't respond and shows as a broken address till I stop and restart the docker

I had been on unraid b12 and what ever previous version of plex docker for months with no issues.

I didn't change any settings, actually I haven't even added any media recently.  Nothing changed except the software updates.

Beta 15 did require me to rebuild the docker image file, but it had all the config info saved and preloaded so I just had to accept and rebuild.

Any advice or things I should try?  Should I just delete the docker and rebuild from scratch?

Hmmm so the Author is "needo/plex:latest" which is what i remembered, but my repository is https://github.com/gfjardim/docker-containers/tree/templates

Not sure if that matters or not... i think i did switch repositories when i installed crashplan (but never really followed through on and don't run anymore).

Would that matter for updates to the docker after installation?

EDIT:  It appears you can install Plex from that repository.  And in case you're asking about server version its currently Version 0.9.11.7  But i don't recall what I upgraded from previously.

EDIT 2.0:  Container Page: https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/needo/plex/

it matters a great deal which docker you're using, can't tell if something is wrong locally to you or a problem with the docker if nobody knows what docker you have.

i can't help you out though because i don't have plex, but anybody who can would have asked the same question, so i just saved them some time.

I understand.  Thank you for taking a minute to help though, I appreciate it

I am running b15 with that same Plex repository with no issues on my end. Sounds like something local.

Ditto, working fine.

Ditto, working fine.

Me too

Also using B15 with Needo's Plex Media Server docker, and no issues.

Same here.

Just a follow up.  It never resolved itself, I ended up deleting the docker image, and plex library and starting completely from scratch.  It seems to be working 100% normal now, it's been running for almost a week without me needing to stop and restart the plex app.
