I am looking to remove one of the Data disk (either disk 1 or 2) not yet sure. However this Disk will not be replaced by any other disk. Can someone tell me the procedure to remove the disk without loosing the data.

 

Do i need to manually move data from the said disk to other?

If there is any data on the disk to be removed, and you want that data to remain on your server, then you will have to manually move that data to another disk on the server.

 

After that, you will have to do a New Config and assign all of the disks you want to remain in the array. Make sure you don't accidentally assign a data disk to the parity slot!

 

Then when you start it will rebuild parity.
