mikeyosm
Hi Is pinning down CPU cores to VMs and Docker apps still required for optimum performance? I have 10 core 2660 V3 Xeon with 20 cores available to me. Should I reserve Core 0 for UNRAID and then use 12-19 for my W10 VM and anything left over for Dockers and other VMs? What is the best way to manage this? Thank you. Link to comment

waveworm
If you are running Plex media server, when a trans code starts for me it was killing my VM speed. I have 88 cooler with 16 threads. Usually not a problem but that initial kickoff of Plex was killing my performance.so I pinned four cores to my complex so that it wouldn't take over everything. When Plex starts up it uses all the resources it has available to it. Link to comment
