April 2, 201610 yr Hi all, Im planning to upgrade my NAS to a Unraid server but I want to know what the total drives you can assign with a Plus licence. On the website it says 12 drives data but how many for the cache? Or is the total 12 drives. Thanks in advance
April 2, 201610 yr Its a total of 12 devices. Devices include hard drives, card readers, dvd drives (if you're passing them through to a VM) and the like (basically anything that would be assigned a disk letter if you had them installed in a windows environment) To more exactly answer your question, 12 drives include your cache drive(s) and parity (but exclude your boot flash stick). So if you decide to make a cache pool of 2 drives, you'll have 9 data disks available and the parity disk Should be noted that version 6.2 is increasing the limit on the Pro licence (but not the Plus) to be up to 2 parity disks, 28 data disks, and 24 disks in a cache pool.
