axeman
I use pre-clear religiously before adding a drive to the array. Now, I want to use it without even configuring an array. What's the fastest way to achieve this? Just tried a fresh install of unraid v6.1.9 and installed latest Pre-clear, but got an error since there's no array defined. I just ran preclear_disk.sh -l and it failed (/boot/config/disk.cfg: No such file or directory). do I need to define disks before I can use it? Quote Link to comment
wgstarks
The preclear script checks disk.cfg to be sure the disk you're trying to preclear isn't part of the array yet, so the file must exist or the script fails. You don't have to assign any disks though, an empty file should work. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Go to tools and click new config, it will create the missing file. Quote Link to comment
axeman
thanks all - just created a blank file and it worked. I can't believe i didn't think of trying that. dont' have it connected to network, so didn't have the benefit of UI to create new. Quote Link to comment
