UPDATED: Kingston Mobilelite G2 Card Reader $9.99 +FS (U.S.) on eBay

UPDATED TO REFLECT NEW LISTING!

The current version (G4) of the Mobilelite card reader does not have a unique GUID and cannot be registered with LimeTech.  The G2 (and G3) is in use on many an unRAID system (I have two myself) because it allows replacement of the memory card should it fail or should you wish to install a large capacity flash memory.  Swapping the memory card does not affect the licensing as the registered GUID belongs to the card reader.

It's been a while since I last saw these on eBay and the seller currently has 9 available as of the time of this post.

If the photos are accurate, they look to be legit; although at one time fakes were available.  Buyer beware and ask questions of the seller if you have doubts, but, it's a good deal and a little extra protection if these are genuine.

Just curious which flash cards work best with this? Or maybe there's no difference?

Also, is there a size limit for unRAID? I seem to remember 32GB but not sure if that's still true or maybe never was.:D

Take note that only one side of the reader can be used to boot from.

I can't remember if it's the SD, or the Micro SD side, Thought I'm leaning towards the Full size SD side.

I have two of these, one currently in use and one used at random times when I want to run pre-cleared on a PC in the office.

This is a good deal, think I might pick one up for another spare.

I don't know about unRAID, but I believe that the G2 version of the reader has a 32GB limit (SD/SDHC only) whereas the G3 version supports larger SDXC cards as well.

In both of these cards I have in service, it is the SD slot from which unRAID boots.  You are correct that it will only boot from one of the slots.  I don't believe the MicroSD slot is bootable.

Doesn't much matter, adapters to fit a microsd into a full sd slot are cheap and easy to find.

Yep. I am using a microSD card in an SD adapter to boot with the G2 Mobilelite

Thanks for this!  I bought two more of these and they appear to be legit and have unique IDs.  I'm going to move my spare unRAID licenses to these.
