January 10, 20179 yr Is there any relatively easy method of turning VM's on/off via Logitech Harmony, or anything other than logging in to the WebUI of unRaid?
January 10, 20179 yr You could try the ControlR app on Android & iOS which works with the plugin here.
January 11, 20179 yr dmacias72 has a Virtual Machine WOL plugin in the app store that allows VM's to participate like physical boxes to a network broadcast WOL signal. Plenty of free apps for iOS or android that do WOL.
January 11, 20179 yr Like jonathanm said there's a VM WOL plugin. I don't wake any vms but I do wake kodi NUC boxes from my Nevo Q50s. I love these remotes and they're cheap on eBay esp for what you get. I still prefer buttons on a remote than using a phone or tablet. I use my Q50 to send a z wave scene command to my Vera home automation box. From Vera, a scene is triggered when a certain button is received from a particular Q50 to execute a WOL command. There's a plugin that creates a WOL device on Vera. It allows for several MACs. I also have Vera send a shutdown command through Kodi's webserver. You might be able to accomplish something similar with the Harmony. I used to use Harmony's but I switched along time ago to Nevo Q50s and Nevo Connect because of the features and software.
January 11, 20179 yr I do it in a much more convoluted way lol. I rely on the command line "virsh start vmname" My home automation system (homeseer) does an ssh call with the command above, ssh keys are stored so no password needed
January 11, 20179 yr You could just forget the Harmony and use An Amazon Echo and Aptalca's home automation bridge docker and use voice commands.
January 12, 20179 yr Author Thanks for the replies everyone, seems no "quick" implementation for using Harmony. However, the Alexa integration looks like it could have some promise. Worst case is the WOL for waking the VM's. Can manually shut down when needed. You could just forget the Harmony and use An Amazon Echo and Aptalca's home automation bridge docker and use voice commands. Have any links for configuring this? I spent about 20 minutes so far reading up on the docker, didnt see anything in a quick search. Will begin more in depth tomorrow.

You didn't mention what Harmony products you had but the bridge does supports the Harmony Hub. Here's a link to the github for the bridge that the docker runs. https://github.com/bwssytems/ha-bridge You'd still need some home automation software or a system like the Vera I have. Here's another link I found for Harmony and Domoticz (which could be run as a docker) https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11104 So basically without the Harmony, you'd need an Echo, the bridge and some home automation software or platform. If your Harmony had zwave then you could interface home automation software directly. Or maybe there are other means for the Harmony to interface like the Hub or some other way. Like I said I haven't used them for several years so I don't know what they can do now.
