March 31, 201016 yr Hi, just wanted to let you know that I just received my Norco 4220 case from Newegg and it no longer has a place for a floppy drive on the right side. Not a big deal to me but thought I would let everyone know. I emailed them to see if there are any other changes, when I here back I will let you know.
March 31, 201016 yr its the older one with the flimsy rail like trays i belive that has the floppy new ones doesnt break its trays as easy which is more of a +
March 31, 201016 yr Looks like a nice case. I wonder if it has the same trays as the ss-500 does. Would definitely be a plus for people who have those 5 in 3s as they would be interchangeable.
March 31, 201016 yr Author Wow, just heard back from Norco, that was fast. Since very few customers use floppy drive now, we use a 2.5" OS drive bracket instead. This is the only change so far. We're going to change the 80mm x4 fan wall to 120mm x3 in Q2. Thanks

April 2, 201016 yr The 2.5" OS drive option would have been nice in my 4220. That said, I'm looking forward to the 4224 dropping... but I really need another 20+ bay case like I need a hole in the head.
April 11, 201016 yr A question to anyone using this case. If this enclosure uses SAS connectors and you have a couple of aoc-saslp-mv8 driving 16 drives, how then do you connect the other 4 drives? do you need to get another aoc-saslp-mv8 card and just use 1/2 of it, or can you somehow bypass the SAS connectors and just use the regulat SATA connectors/cables? Thanks.

April 11, 201016 yr Newegg has a "sale" now for Norco 4220 + 1TB Seagate for $315 + shipping. Good deal? Buy has the AOC-SASLP-MV8 for $95. I could not find a better price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811219033
April 11, 201016 yr Sorry.. Here is the SAS link: http://www.buy.com/prod/aoc-saslp-mv8-8-ports-sas-raid-controller-pci-express-x4-300mbps-per/q/loc/101/211421060.html

Do you think that waiting for the 120 cm fan version would make a lot of difference as far as the noise level is concerned, or maybe just swapping out for some quieter 80 cm fans now?
