November 23, 20178 yr Hello I've just update from V5 to V6.3.5 Looks like everything is fine, I can access the content on my TV But when I type Tower or Tower:8080 in the browser, I can't access the WebGUI anymore...... Thanks
November 23, 20178 yr Community Expert Start by going through the WIKI on upgrading from Version 5 to version 6. It can be found here: https://wiki.lime-technology.com/Upgrading_to_UnRAID_v6 Double check your plugins to make sure that you have culled out all of them that are 32 bit.
November 24, 20178 yr Author It works...I had to type http:/tower and could get in Now, I just type Tower and it works I run a very basic server, no plugins or dockers I will have to add the following line in my go file to shut down the server every night at 12:30 (I don't keep it 24/7) echo "/sbin/powerdown" | at 00:30 Also, what are the steps to replace my current flash drive by another one, much smaller (Sandisk Cruzer fit 4Gb)? Thanks

Basically, you need to get the new Flash Drive and follow the instructions on this page: https://lime-technology.com/replace-key/ A couple of details not on the page. Shutdown your server. Copy all of the files to the NEW Flash Drive. Run the make_bootable.bat (or the appropriate make_bootable script for you PC) on the new Flash Drive. Put new Flash Drive into server and restart your server. Follow instructions.
November 24, 20178 yr Author OK, thanks few more questions: -) looks like the command to stop the array at 12:30am did not work....Any idea why? It was working just fine on my previous version -) I've just launched a parity check. My parity drive is 2TB. Just after I clicked on "Start", it showed 452 days, but right after it was showing 10 hours. After 1 hour, it now shows 22 days, at an estimated speed of 975 KB/sec.....!!! Do you know why it could be so slow? I'm sure there is something wrong somewhere...... Thanks

November 24, 20178 yr Nothing particularly pops out. (Except that you've got a couple of drives attached to the motherboard that are operating as PATA instead of SATA. Check your BIOS for settings to change that) Best guesses are a combination of Very slow CPU Only a single core CPU 2Gig Memory Installed (which is barely functional with unRaid)
November 25, 20178 yr Author OK, I will have to hook up a screen and keyboard to look at the Bios I'm at 25% after 11 hours.............!!!! What motherboard/cpu/memory would you recommend for my needs: -) Vanilla server -) Low power consumption -) Cheap................. Thanks
November 25, 20178 yr You're running an AMD Sempron 1100, a 9 year old single core chip that gets 436 Passmarks. unRAID 6 really needs a dual core chip, 2GB of RAM and 1,000 Passmarks as a minimum. You'd be better off with 4GB of RAM and at least 2,000 Passmarks. You could potentially find another AM2 chip and stick with your current motherboard with a RAM upgrade, or get something newer. You could get by with an Intel Pentium or Celeron, Intel is generally better on power consumption than AMD these days.
November 25, 20178 yr Author yeah...I know. Time to upgrade apparently Any recommendation for CPU+mobo, reasonably priced?
November 25, 20178 yr Are you in the US, France or elsewhere? I ask because prices and parts availability vary by region.
November 25, 20178 yr Community Expert Have a look at my signature. The CPU, RAM and MB were about $260US in Dec 2106 and Jan 2017 for each server. (If you need more disks then six, I would suggest the LSI, IMB and Dell used boards. They are less then $100US.) Edited November 25, 20178 yr by Frank1940
November 25, 20178 yr Author My local Microcenter has the I3-7100 Kabiy Lake for $110 Cheapest option seems to be the Celeron G3930 for $40 I will have to look at their motherboards.............
November 25, 20178 yr The i3-7100 would be a huge upgrade over what you have now. Actually, the Celeron G3930 would be a pretty huge upgrade over what you have now as well .
November 25, 20178 yr Community Expert Either one will provide you with enough Hp for all basic server functions. The Celeron will allow a single stream of plex transcoding while the i3 will do two. I would not try to run any VM's on either one. I would definitely get 8GB of RAM. It provides for a bit of future proofing at very little cost.
November 25, 20178 yr Author Thank for your comment.... For the motherboard, and following the same "concept" (aka cheap), what would be your suggestions: -) mATX or mini ITX -) 6 SATA with 1 slot to add another sata controller Thanks
November 25, 20178 yr Community Expert I won't worry about the form factor except to make sure that it will fit inside the case. Make sure that it has all of the ports (both USB and SATA) and slots that you think it will ever need. I personally think it is ridiculous to go with a board intended for a server that has only four SATA ports to save a couple of bucks but folks have. Finding one with more than six ports is usually an expansive upgrade.
November 25, 20178 yr Author Found this one on Newegg...... https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813183607
