pkn
[6.5.3] How to make disks "comments" visible in WebGUI? There is a field "Comments" on disks settings page. I would very much like to be able to see the content of "Comments" in WebGUI, on "Main" or "Dashboard". Not on individual disk page, but all together in some form. Tried searching forums, to no avail. Any help would be appreciated. Link to comment
John_M
According to the Help for that item, the Comments field is used by Windows Explorer, though I'm not sure how that works because disk shares are disabled by default. There isn't really room for it on the Main or Dashboard pages of the GUI. Link to comment
bonienl
You need to set enable disk shares to YES (see Settings -> Global Share Settings) With disk shares enabled, they become visible under Shares, just like user shares. The default setting is AUTO, which prevents a disk share to become visible when a user share exists on the given disk. This is done as a safety mechanism and protects users from doing "wrong" copy actions. With this setting enabled, be sure how you copy between shares, i.e. it is not allowed to copy from user share to disk share (or the other way around). Always copy from disk share to disk share or copy from user share to user share. Link to comment
