arrush Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 So this afternoon I noticed that my Plex docker had an update, having done this multiple times before I initiated the update but it failed. Immediately I noticed my custom banner was reset to default and my docker and vm tabs were missing but everything seemed to continue working. Upon getting home later that night I decided to do a reboot but was hit with the error cannot find device "bond0". I tried checking the usb on a windows machine and it reads fine, I tried other usb ports on the server with no success. Any help would be appreciated.
John_M Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Your boot flash device has dropped off line. Try a different socket, preferably a USB 2.0 one.
John_M Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 Does your flash device have a USB 2 or USB 3 interface? Use a standard USB 2 one, even if you have to put it in a USB 3 socket.
arrush Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 I mean it is usb 3 but it has worked without a hitch for over a year and now all of a sudden a plex update fails and everything stops working?
John_M Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 It's dropping off line, as shown in your second photograph.
arrush Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 how do i setup a new usb key, the link seems to be dead
bonienl Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 As said by @John_M your USB is offline. This prevents loading of the necessary drivers which are stored on the USB device, resulting in the error message about bond0.
arrush Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 Have a new USB stick in transit, will attempt a fix on the weekend and report back. Thanks for the help thus far.
arrush Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 So after some playing around im back to life just needed to reactivate the new key. The old usb key still seems to be working on my windows pc, should i assume it is bad and throw it away? Thanks everyone for the help.
John_M Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Use it for low importance stuff on your PC if you like but don't risk it with anything that matters. Personally though, I'd throw it away. I have so many USB sticks that if I know one to be unreliable I'd rather not have it.
