jdmhammer Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 This morning while beginning the process to migrate to a new ssd the domain.cfg file on the flash drive for Unraid became corrupt. I did a quick google search and couldn't find anything about fixing the issue. Is this something that can be replaced with the file from the install package or am I SOL here? Quote Link to comment
Squid Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 The domain.cfg file is simply the settings from Settings - VM Settings. Whatever you change in there will rewrite the domain.cfg file. 1 Quote Link to comment
John_M Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 It isn't a very complex file. Here's mine for reference. SERVICE="enable" DEBUG="no" DOMAINDIR="/mnt/user/domains/" MEDIADIR="/mnt/user/isos/" VIRTIOISO="/mnt/user/isos/virtio-win-0.1.160-1.iso" BRNAME="br0" VMSTORAGEMODE="auto" IMAGE_FILE="/mnt/user/system/libvirt/libvirt.img" IMAGE_SIZE="1" DISKDIR="/mnt/" TIMEOUT="60" HOSTSHUTDOWN="shutdown" It essentially reflects the content of the Settings -> VM Manager page in Advanced view: 1 Quote Link to comment
jdmhammer Posted November 20, 2018 Author Share Posted November 20, 2018 Just now, Squid said: The domain.cfg file is simply the settings from Settings - VM Settings. Thank you, that explains when it got corrupt it was just after I shut down the VMs. If I remove the corrupt file will Unraid write a new one when I change the VM Settings? Quote Link to comment

I expect it would do but you're in a good position to test the theory! It won't make things worse. Quote Link to comment

jdmhammer Posted November 20, 2018 Author Share Posted November 20, 2018 Success, removed the corrupt file and saved the VM config again. Quote Link to comment
John_M Posted November 20, 2018 Share Posted November 20, 2018 That's good to know. Quote Link to comment
