Kash76
Hey guys, I had an error show up on one of my cache drives (Crucial 275GB SSD) - percent lifetime remain (failing now) is 99. There is a 'thumbs down' next to the drive in my dashboard. Do I replace the drive? If it's okay, how do I clear the error? Thanks! I do not see any errors reported in the SMART log. Here is what I see in the drive info... JorgeB
It means the SSD reached the estimated life, it doesn't mean it's failing, it can work for a long time without issues, you can acknowledge the SMART attribute by clicking on the dashboard warning. 1 Quote Link to comment
Kash76
Thank you for the response. This is all I see when I click on the thumbs-down icon in the dashboard... Yes, sorry, you can acknowledged monitored SMART attributes (when there's a yellow warning), since the device has a failing now SMART attribute, that can't be acknowledged, the warning will be always there. Toobie
Hey there. I installed an cache ssd as I started with Unraid. So about 2-3 months ago. Today I got an smart error and I'm now a bit confused. The ssd was brand new at the installation. Is this error to worry about? Ok thank you. I have the "CA Backup / Restore Appdata" enabled which makes weekly backups. As the CA Plugin just can backup the appdata is there a tool/plugin which can backup my complete cache? Toobie
ok, one more to go. As @Kash76 has a failure of 99 - iam only having a "failure" of 1. As we both having a crucial ssd I found out (but not 100% sure) that iam just reached the 1% of the lifetime of, of course, 100%. The SSD of @Kash76 should be actually dead with the value of 99. Than, it might be really nothing to worry about - yet. 1 Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Different models might report the attribute differently, but SMART failing NOW means it reached the threshold. Edited August 12, 2019 by johnnie.black Quote Link to comment
guruleenyc
Anybody have any eventual ssd failures shortly after this warning? If so, what was your make and model of the drive? Quote Link to comment
