USB Compatible List of Devices

This'll sum it up pretty nicely

IE: It's not so much that there is a compatibility list, as pretty much any flash drive will work.  But like anything else in life, you're going to get what you pay for, and if you choose to use a flash drive that's already been massively used, or you found in the gutter one day, or something made by a company that you either can't pronounce or doesn't even have a company listed on it, then it'll probably be no good.

The only requirement for flashdrives is that they have a unique GUID.  Only the dirt cheap ones will not fulfill that requirement.

Things have advanced slightly since WinXP. 😀

Historically, USB2 drives are far far more reliable than USB3 drives (this is simply a matter of fact for the drives themselves, and not anything unRaid specific), and spending any extra money for a USB3 drive over a USB2 drive is a waste, as there is zero advantage to them.

And booting from a USB2 port is often more reliable also.
