awediohead
Is this even remotely possible? Forgive the pun! Right now I'm just grabbing a monitor from my kid's PC ( = unhappy kid) when I need to tweak a BIOS setting, but then, having annoyed said kid repeatedly over several days, I suddenly thought, maybe there's some way of seeing the BIOS on my server machine via the laptop i normally use for unraid GUI, without having monitor and keyboard connected directly? or maybe only the keyboard to mash the delete key on boot, but then get network GUI access to the BIOS ? Probably a silly question, but I'd end up feeling even sillier if there's a way to do this everybody else knows about except me, and I don't ask! cheers Quote Link to comment
itimpi
That is possible if you have a server class motherboard with IPMI support built in (in data centres which are frequently remotely manage this is a high value capability). It is not likely to be possible with a typical desktop/gaming type motherboard. 1 Quote Link to comment
tjb_altf4
I've seen some RPI projects that seek to replicate IPMI functionality that might be worth further investigation, quick google will bring up a few of these. Quote Link to comment
