Shares disconnect and disappear

Hello,

 

Today I tried to set up Time Machine with smb. At first it worked and the Backup started, but after a few hours, every client got disconnected, the backup stopped and every share disappeared from the share tab in the WebUI. When I reboot the server everything seems to work normal until it crashes after a few hours of making the backup.

Several apps segfaulting, start by running memtest.

How do I run the memtest? If I choose it in the boot menu, the server just reboots.

Disable UEFI boot, memtest only works under legacy BIOS/CSM.

You can also download a UEFI compatible version from the memtest86 web site

The memtest shows many errors, does this mean one or all of my RAM sticks are broken?

Yes, you can test one by one

It seems, that this was the problem. Is it normal, that a 900GB Backup takes several days with smb?

Depends on how you're doing it, but not normal, with gigabit (and mostly large files) it should be able to backup around 300GB per hour.
