DataVamp
Hi, I just set up unraid for the 1st time. I have two 4TB Seagate drives installed (one for parity and a data drive). For some reason, unraid is only recognizing them as 2.2 TB drives. Any suggestions as to what i can do to resolve the issue? Thank you Quote Link to comment
trurl
Some older controllers only support 2.2TB Quote Link to comment
DataVamp
OK...I'm sure it's a dumb question, but would that be as easy as just updating the BIOS or would I need to install a SAS card as a stop gap before swapping the motherboard? Quote Link to comment
trurl
If the controller has a BIOS update for this issue then update it. I had a controller with this issue and BIOS update fixed it. Quote Link to comment
trurl
Are these ports on the motherboard? It would have to be a pretty old motherboard to have this problem. Quote Link to comment
DataVamp
Yea, it's an old X58 Supermicro board (supermicro x8st3). The controller is a Broadcom SAS1068E. Quote Link to comment
