  • [6.12.1] & [6.12.2] mc shows no progressbar

    Hello.

Since 6.12.1  (and today I updated one machine to 6.12.2) the mc started from webGUI Terminal does not show any progress bar when I move files.

I tried the unraid WebGUI with Opera 99.xxxx then after an update Opera One (100.xxx), then with Firefox 114.x and after that I tried Edge on Win10pro 64Bit.

With none of them does the mc (midnight commander started in the terminal window) show an progressbar, when I move files/directories.

I know for sure the mc did show a progressbar in previous unraid versions.

I can confirm on that on FF114.

Clearing cached data on the browser did not change the behavior.

    Same thing on Chrome.

Have the same problem with Firefox and version 6.12.3. Sometimes i even see big black bar, resizing the windows help a bit but doesn't fix the problem. Windows 10 and 11 both do the same.

I changed both my unraid machines to unraid 6.12.3.

The problem does still exist. 🥺

Even in 6.12.4 it looks like the problem still is not solved.

    Question

will this get fixed some time soon?

Some time passed and even now with the newer versions I can't see the progress bar in a terminalwindow with mc

IIRC this was caused due to a change to resolve issues with Chrome based browsers and the terminal window, as a workaround you can:

    • edit /etc/default/ttyd
    • delete the '-t rendererType=canvas' option and save
    • pkill ttyd ← this will also kill your open terminal window
    • open new terminal window

Note that would need to redo it after a reboot, or have a script doing it.

I have this in my go-file:

    sed -i 's/-t rendererType=canvas //' /etc/default/ttyd
    pkill ttyd

If not, I can't open any log or terminal window in Chrome on Android (Pixel 8 Pro). It will open a new tab but it is blank and the tab with the Unraid ui will freeze.
