  1. @Teshiburu, did you go with that motherboard in the end or did you opt for something else? As I’m at the beginning of planning a new build and your requirements look very similar to mine I wonder what you ended up with.
  2. Can confirm this behaviour on 6.12.6 with the latest plugin version installed (2023.12.24) in both Google Chrome 120.0.6099.129 and Safari 17.2
  3. Not a biggie, but the support link when clicked from the container points to the old forums (https://unraid.net/forum/index.php?topic=45812.0) instead of the current URL. No idea who can adjust this, or maybe it's changed now but i have the container installed eons ago 😉
  4. @dius, yes that's also what i did, updating Nextcloud in the command line.
  5. Well this is awkward. Just updated to the latest version of the Nextcloud container, but now i'm getting this error in Unraid version: 6.11.5 This version of Nextcloud is not compatible with > PHP 8.0. You are currently running 8.1.16. Anyone also noticed/experienced this? Guess i should go back to 25.0.3 instead of the current 25.0.4 version. [edit]Ah, i see this is already been reported above[/edit]
  6. @Linguafoeda, i don't see why that would be a problem.
  7. Excellent tutorial as always. Though i'm stuck at the part to install the EFI files on the volumes where macOS is installed, in my case High Sierra, as in Opencore Configurator i simply don't see the EFI partitions for where High Sierra is installed. Has anyone else run into this issue, and was able to solve it?
  8. Beats me. I have WireGuard setup myself, but actually rarely use it these days, due to work from home in these COVID times. But I do wonder why it seems a lot of unRAID users have been what seems to be hacked? Only port I have personally open is 443 voor https and setup reverse proxy for Bitwarden for example. Hope this port is still safe. But I’ve seen users opening up port 22 and that certainly is a big NO NO.
*aus dem Gigabyte H370M D3H GSM Handbuch Allows you to select whether to enable the UEFI or Legacy option ROM for the PCI device controller other than the LAN, storage device, and graphics controllers.
  11. Vielen Dank an beide.
  13. Unfortunately putting that card in another slot still doesn't get it to be recognised. Will try to hunt someone down with a PC where I can try this card in. When I hook up one of the ports to a switch it also only gets a 10 FDX (10 Mbps) connection instead of 1000 FDX (1 Gbps). But then again that port doesn't get an IP address which seems logical as it's not loaded on my unRAID server.
  14. OK I'll try that, but unfortunately I don't have any PC's here where I can try it in. But have one other slot on the Gigabyte mobo which I can try.
  15. Bought a Fujitsi network card (Fujitsu Siemens D3045-A11 GS 1 Quad Port Full Profile) which has a Intel® I350-AM4 Gigabit Ethernet Controller and installed it in the PCIEX4 slot on my Gigabyte H370M D3H GSM motherboard but somehow this card isn't showing up in my IOMMU groups. When I plug in a cable into one of the ports into my switch it does recognise it, meaning the led light up. So not sure what I'm missing here. It should work I guess when I put that card into the PCIEX4 slot of my Gigabyte mojo, correct? Attached diagnostics below firefly-diagnostics-20210308-1530.zip
  16. Still happy with the case and build myself. Cannot give much comments on the parts you picked, but the pcpartpicker website is great to make sure your components are compatible with each other. Only thing I discovered, and that was a bit of given due to the drive cages, is that the last WD Elements 10TB disc I shucked doesn't have any screw holes in the middle of the sides and so due to how the drive cages are constructed that meant I could only secure the disk with two screws instead of four. There is this part at the Fractal Design web site, but is no longer available as most of the cages for which this part is made are no longer fabricated. I'll look how the disc behaves, because securing it with only 2 screws leaves it a bit 'dangling' on the bottom. Maybe I'll use tie wraps to secure it more later on, but it's not ideal.
  17. For unRAID a lot of folks on here recommend the HP Mellanox connext 10 gbe SFP+ cards as these work out-of-the-box. That card also works on Windows. You should be able to find some for sale on eBay.
  18. In some cases, you’ll also have to tape off pin 3 of a shucked drive, check if it shows up in your BIOS after reboot, if not you’ll probably need to do it. In fact if that’s needed you can tape off the first three pins, as pin 1 & 2 aren’t used. Had to do that myself with a 10TB WD Elements disc recently which contained a HGST Helium disc, labelled as a white label WD RED. Saved me about 95€ compared to a WD RED back in February.
  19. No problem. My setup goes to sleep whenever there's no activity for an hour and the disks are spun down. You can definitively also conserve some energy as unRAID never spins up disks which I doesn't need and hence the reason a SSD cache drive is really handy. Yeah SpaceInvader One has a lot of interesting videos regarding unRAID which helped me out on some questions I had.
  20. Was able to boot with the CPU installed, and then update the BIOS. First I was planning to install Nextcloud and co. on the unRAID server, but since it goes in sleep mode whenever possible I'm opting not to do that as then off course Nextcloud and co. can no longer be reached. In sleep everything is off, except the LEDs on the network port, and then the system only draws 3W from the socket so that's pretty impressive. Updating the parity drive went well, didn't have any issue with it. Followed the excellent video from SpaceInvader One on how to swap a parity drive. Off course I first ran a preclear with the disk still in the WD Elements case, you never know up front if you received a bad drive or not. Since I'll probably only use the drive cages build in, so will never go over 8 disks so for me personal I will not be adding a second parity drive.
  21. Sorry for the late reply, seems somehow notifications were off on my own thread ☺️ Actually going for a SATA SSD instead of a M.2 SSD was about the only ‘mistake’ I made, looking back at my first build ever. It was all @testdasi his fault 😁 No in all seriousness he helped me a lot as you can see in the thread, as otherwise I would have made a lot more mistakes. But that decision not is lost one, as I plan to build a small always-on server hosting Nextcloud, Bitwarden, Pi-Hole, Homebridge, ... and then the SSD will move to that new small server and will be replaced by M.2 one, which also frees up that SATA port. I did update the mobo to the latest BIOS and have not had any issues so far. Case could be more quiet when using Noctua fans for instance, but for the moment I can life with the noise. It’s not loud at all, max 40 DB thereabouts. Fans are connected to the motherboard though and I don’t use the fan hub of the case. Gives me more options to handle fan speed in the BIOS that way. All in all I’m very satisfied with this build and it should serve me for years to come. Compared to the final part list, i already replaced the parity disk with a 10TB shucked WD Elements drive, so space wise I’m settled for the foreseeable future. Next up will be adding a new 10TB data drive, as I tend to rip a lot of my Blu-rays (re-encode to H.265), so have to go easier on that 😀
  22. So no iGPU. Can't help with would be the best option if you're on a budget but I'm sure somebody else will can help on this.
  23. Energy cost is something to think about yes 🙃 Nowhere nearly have the build you’re aiming for, but in my case I was curious to what kind of wattage my build pulled out of the wall. Well I was surprised it was actually not bad at all, in regular usage between 24 and 44 Watt depending on what is currently running. And in sleep mode, which is during the most part of the work week the server consumes 3 Watt.
