  1. No problem, I will check this as soon as I did add the first backups within AppData. How this works now is really brilliant. I just thinking about how to do a second copy which I save in the office and refresh every week with a new backup. Probably the easiest one is to create 2 more scripts that will copy the data to the second and third external drive. Same config, just another target path and manually started.
  2. That is clear I did the same, but the problem is that other users have no NTFS permissions for your profile folder. I always use advanced sharing, maybe the easier sharing option also sets NTFS permissions. Not sure. Never used it the last years. EDIT: Yes, tested it: NTFS permissions are automatically set with the easier sharing option. I will create a group, add the Unraid-Backup-User to the group and give the permissions to the group. Then I am flexible if I want to change anything for the user accounts... It's always best practice to use groups. By the way, I created a share for the complete C$ because I want also to backup other folders in my profile, also some program folders in AppData etc. In the script I just added the path behind and all is fine...
  3. Another question... how did you solve it that your Backup user can access your Windows profile and things like desktop, documents, etc? Did you add the user to the admin group? Add NTFS read permissions for the profile folder? All not ideal...
  4. Awesome! Works like a charm! I will setup another one with another port for my wife's desktop and we are done Many thanks! 😄
  5. Wow, many thanks for the complete solution! I set it up but I am not sure if that really works on my server, because tcpdump is not recognized as command. I presume I have to install this first, right?
  6. Aahhhh, changed 5 min ago and startet backup That works Thanks for letting me know the possible ways to trigger a backup. The question is what would be the easiest and fastest to implement?
  7. Good idea! 🙂 But how to automate / trigger this from the Windows Client to make backup now? It must be so easy that my wife can do this. Maybe it's possible to use the "inbuilt" Ubuntu in W10 and mount the local disks and run it from there? https://thedatafrog.com/en/articles/backup-rsync-windows-wsl/
  8. By the way... is there any chance to use this script locally on a Windows PC to backup the internal disks to an external drive?
  9. The Window was open, anytime. But anyway, I presume this is the problem.
  10. I presume the problem for just a big job was that I ran the script manually in the web gui user script plugin. At the moment it's still running. When done I will schedule an automatic job.
  11. The log just stopped - no errors.
  12. It is possible that the script had some problems with big initial backups? I started yesterday to backup my 4 TB of Data to an external drive and it stopped after 1,5 TB. Now I started again and I am excited to see what will happen. But very cool script, really! I had a look how the hard links and inodes work, very clever!
  13. Knowing or believing? As already described, a TAR file makes it nearly impossible to backup the backup to an external drive if you have not unlimited space on the external hard disk. Why not implementing this as an option? I would really appreciate it.
  14. Very nice app! I use it everyday to backup my Docker data. BUT there's one thing I want to ask: Would it be possible to implement an option if I want to have a TAR file or not? With the TAR file we get a big file on every backup that the second backup software (to external drive) want to backup. If the backup would be just a copy of "appdata" without to tar it afterwards, the other backup software would be able to use dedup to prevent to backup the same data multiple times.
  15. Genau so hatte ich mir das vorgestellt! Super!
  17. I installed Portainer-CE from the CA and it works very fine. Just for your info 🙂
  18. Habe Gutes ĂŒber Duplicacy gehört. LĂ€uft im Docker Container.
