  1. OK Checked motherboard BIOS and there is no VT-D option. Have checked the BIOS's on the SASLP and they both have int13 disabled and are running 3.1.0.15n I have not more PCI-e slots so could only swap them around. What to do now? It appears that the SASLP card keeps crashing and I lose connection to multiple (8?) drives. Suggestions please.
  2. OK this could take some time, any recommendations re transferring the data? Using Teracopy could be a tad slow.
  3. The strange thing is that the server doesnt become unresponsive, you can still use the console or telnet in. It just will not shutdown/reboot. I have a syslog from the last time it became unresponsive I can upload that if it helps.
  4. Wow, that could take a while. Are you sure this is necessary?
  5. Thanks for that. I have two SASLP in the system, could that be a problem? New Diagnostic attached. tower-diagnostics-20170422-1323.zip
  6. Bump Any ideas? After reseating the cables, I restarted the server and started a read check. It is showing millions of errors on 7 drives (maybe 8 if parity was included). The number of errors on each drive is nearly identical so I cannot see it being all of the drives, RAID card?
  7. I have had a few problems recently with the server failing ie I cannot access from the network but the console is responsive. But a reboot or shutdown will not work, it says the system is going into shutdown but never completes. I have been trying to diagnose but this happened again today and I had to hard reset and the parity check started. However 7 drives are now showing errors and the check has stopped. I have been running "fix common problems" in troubleshoot mode and I attach the diagnostic. Could someone please advise as to what is my next step without losing everything. tower-diagnostics-20170421-1808.zip
  8. It is a large amount of data from one user share to another, so not necessarily the same disks.
  9. I am also trying t install Krusader. What should I set the "Host path1" and "Host Path 2" to?
  10. Can Dolphin move as apposed to copy? I have it loaded and cannot see a way. I will not have enough space to copy.
  11. I am after a way of relatively quickly moving a large amount of data from a folder on one user share to another user share. Recommendations please.
  12. Fix common problems is coming up with "Cache Floor Size (calculated to 2048000000 bytes) is larger than your cache drive (1962606592 bytes" as an error. No idea why as I do not have a cache drive, can I ignore it?
  13. No I meant where did you see that Disk 10 did not report? I have run the short SMART without a problem, I am running the long one now. I just wondered where you saw the error so I can look for it in future.
  14. Hi, Thanks for that. Can I ask where in the diagnostics are you seeing that?
  15. Thanks for that, see attached. As for the original drive it is a ST31500 and frankly I am surprised it has lasted this long, all the others I bought have died. tower-diagnostics-20161125-1430.zip
  16. I had my disk 10 show a failure a week or so ago so I replaced it with a new WD 3Tb Red drive. But this failed during rebuild. It seemed to be detected intermittently even after I swapped cables etc so I put it down to a dead drive. So I replaced it with another new WD 3TB Red and this one has failed during rebuild also. Any ideas why? tower-syslog-20161125-1350.zip
  17. "Unable to communicate with GitHub.com" I believe it is a DNS problem yet when I go there to make changes (new ISP) it says that "Docker must be stopped to make changes". When I go to the docker I cannot see the option. Where do I stop it?
  18. You are right lowered it a bit and it works now. Got a new 3Tb arriving tomorrow. It would be nice for there to be a warning rather than the server just lock, can one be turned on anywhere?
  19. Ahh OK. Is there a warning anywhere?
  20. OK Thanks, tried viewing from Edge and the shares show up, will look into why that it later. Attached are screen shots for the two shares.
