Encrypted drives with password -> move to keyfile
Hi is it possible to change encryption from manual entered password to a keyfile without need of reformat? I would like to uncrypt at autostart by downloading keyfile from outside.

New NAS build + NUC as docker/VMs - how to do this? Does it make sense?
Hi I have very bad setup currently (using mostly for Plex + some small dockers and VMs). Bad in such way that I use USB drives... Intel NUC 10th Gen i7 + 32GB + 2TB SSD cache + 3x 12TB drives via... USB (2 drives array + 1 for parity). This is surprisely very stable and I got no issues with this but would like to expand array for next 2-3 drives so I want to move to proper build. As I love this NUC as docker/VMs and its all configured - I would llike to leave it with cache drive + 1TB internal 2.5 HDD. This will work fine for me and I will not have to move any configuration. Then build NAS from scratch and move these drives into SATA connection. With 1Gb LAN - would it make sense for Plex to work from NUC but files located at NAS? How to mount new UNRAID NAS shares into NUC so it is most stable and quick? And finally then with focus only on power efficency and silence what would you recommend as: MOBO, CPU, PSU? Case would be fractal node 804. Keeping in mind that this would be NAS only, no VMs or dockers on this - just serve files for NUC and other LAN/WiFi devices.

New build - upgrade from NUC to something new
Hi so I use at home old NUC system (based on i5 6th generation) with 16GB and with... 2 USB 3.0 12TB drives, 1 SSD 2TB as cache. No parity. Its for media server mostly + some dockers and VMs for my fun use. I decided that its a high time to move forward to something more like NAS, not like frankenstein that I have now. What I need: - 6 HDDs 3.5" place inside the case, do not have to be hot swappable etc. I plan to put there 3-4 drives now and when needed add more in future and forget. No swapping. - I am thinking now about Fractal Design 304 case, white as it looks nice and fits my cabinet under TV - HAVE to be quiet, super quiet as it goes under TV in living room - should be power efficient but this is not priority no.1 - as I have now 6th gen i5 and 16GB and all works fine with me - I do not need anything super-strong. In most cases the max load is when we use at home 2-3 streams from Plex at same time, while 2 of them are always direct play, one can be reencoded. So quicksync is needed but I dont need any external GPU (I suppose). Any ideas?

6.9.2 cannot reach 192.168.1.2 and dont really know why...
Hi my unraid server has address 192.168.1.97 / 24, gateway at 192.168.1.1, DNS - same. I have Pi-hole installed as docker as br0 192.168.1.2 and all of my network devices beside unraid are working with this as DNS server and it works flawless. However I just realized that from unraid server and from HomeAssistant docker in host mode I just can't route to this 192.168.1.2 Got no idea why, looks like kind of elementary problem but where I failed? VMs can see 192.168.1.2.

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
All works good. It was cable connection issue. Beside the fact that front screen is always on with Booting... info - works way better then any QNAP firmware. I am now moving also to Unraid with my 453D model. Qnap just sucks with firmware part - overbloated.

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
So for TS-459 PRO this is SOLVED with upgrade to 2GB ram. No more kernel panic. Right now I just struggle with fact that it does not see all of my drives. Some from esata are not visible. I should see 4 internal + 5 esata drives in esata bay. And system sees total of 7 drives. Trying to change this

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
This is very old model of QNAP. It does not allow to upgrade anything else - max 2GB, no CPU replacement. And what I need is for this one is only to act NAS as backup one with esata enclosure so it can see 4 internal drives + 5 esata. Set them with parity drive as one array and set up rsync server. All needed. Nothing more nothing less. Will be very happy if this will work out.

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
Nope, even removed DOM (what was not easy thing to do as I tried without dismounting everything). And then boom - just got small enlightenment - perhaps this kernel panic is caused by 1GB of ram on my qnap... Checked min requiremenst of unraid - needed 2GB. I just ordered 2GB module and will fight back in few days. Never give up

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
Guys, any idea how I can try to proceed? Any troubleshooting for boot process?

USB Docking Station not showing in Unraid OS but do in Preclear
Hi any idea if one of 8-bays that you tried was NS800U3 ? I am willing to buy this one but only if will support ID. Is there any way to override IDs and add them somehow manually?

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
Yes, boots without issues then whatever option I choose - standard, GUI, safe GUI, safe non-GUI - always come to kernel panic. USB drive reformatted, checked with another hardware (Optiplex 780) - works like a charm. Did again clear installation - all same here. Kernel Panic. I am soooo disappointed as I wanted to use Unraid with this old qnap. Its no longer supported by QNAP but has nice hardware design - including 2x esata with multipliers that work like charm with my tower bays. I tried with this optiflex 780 and with NUC via sata/e-sata cable but then my other hardware sees only first drive in esata towers. So this qnap is my last resort.

unRAID on QNAP TS-451
Hi, i tried today boot unraid with my old TS-459 PRO. Good news - it can boot from USB so no need to open and remove DOM. Bad news - it goes into kernel panic. And I got no idea at all how I can move forward. Really would love to see this working as this QNAP works perfectly with my esata case and I can get there up to 14 drives together... Any idea if I still should try with removed DOM?
