  1. Thanks, I will do that as soon as I got the switch and report back when everything is running.
  2. So I need to configure the VLAN in Windows 11? I'm going to look into that. I thought / expected I needed to configure this in the VM settings so the whole VM was only connected to the intel NIC. Do I need to disable/change something in the Unraid VM network settings to disable that connection?
  3. What I want to achieve: A separate VLAN for my IP security camera's and Blue Iris security software that I installed on a Windows VM with a dedicated NIC installed in the Unraid server for the VM. I will setup the VLAN in my managed switch. I passed through the Intel Ethernet Controller X550 to the VM, but now I don't know what I need to do to make the VM make exclusively use of this NIC.. Because I passed it to the VM it's not visible anymore in the Unraid VM settings, so that's why I'm wondering if passing through is the correct way. Hence my shoutout to the forum that already helped me a lot! Can anybody give me some pointers how to achieve this?
  4. Thank YOU!! that was the solution. I didn't know you don't have to do that using the plugin. Besides that, I hope at a certain time this plugin wil be integrated in Unraid. That would help a lot of people using the integrated GPU's in their VM's.
  5. I installed the Intel Graphics SR-IOV plugin and created one virtual GPU. The virtual GPU is visible in the system devices, I could bind it to vfio and select it in the VM's settings. No Code 43 in the Windows VM and as you can see the GPU is now present in the taskmanager. So far so good. However, I discovered I get an error when I restart the server that the VM autostart failed because of a vfio binding error. When I manually start the VM everything is fine. I'm wondering if it takes a longer time to bind the virtual GPU so it's not ready when the VM starts? When I check the log all devices are bound succesfully.
  6. I just installed it, but I have to check how it works. I will let you guys know how it goes!
  7. I want to passthrough the gpu so I can use it with Blu-Iris. I use an ASRock Z790 Pro RS/D4. After reading, trying and testing a lot of options i found in this forum and reddit I stil didn't manage to succesfully get it working. What did I do so far: BIOS has Intel Graphics Virtualization Technology enabled BIOS has IOMMU enabled The GPU is recognized in the Unraid device manager: IOMMU group 0:[8086:4680] 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation AlderLake-S GT1 (rev 0c). Binded the GPU to VFIO. In the Windows 11 VM the GPU is recognized al Intel(R) UHD Graphics 770. However, I get an "error Code 43 device can't start that I can't get rid off. I already installed the latest Intel driver, but no change. So, anybody has ideas how to fix this?
  8. That was the issue! Duh.. Thanks! Hopefully the screenshots can help other people adding a drive.
  9. I have read I think most topics concerning adding a passthru drive to my windows VM. A lot of them however are older and not using the latest 6.12.10 version where some or all elements are included in the software. However after adding the drive I still can't see it in Windows. My goal is to add an extra drive dedicated to the VM because I want to use it as storage for the Blue-Iris camerasoftware. My Windows VM is installed on a 2TB nvmeOn drive. What did I do: I added a small 1TB SSD drive for testing purposes to see how it all works before I will get a big regulair HDD. In the Unassigned Devices settings for that drive I've selected the Passed through option. See screenshot. In this screenshot You see the disc serial that I used in the VM settings to add the drive. See the second screenshot. You can't see it in the screenshot, but the location is /dev/disk/by-id/ata-Samsung_SSD_870_EVO_1TB_S75CNX0WC40020Z. The VM updates without an issue and windows 11 runs. However, I can't see the disc in the VM Windows Exporer.. I attached a disc manager screenshot and I assume the schijf 0 (=disc0) is the drive. I can't however give it a drive letter as suggested in one of the other topics to make it visible. That option is not available. So, my question is if my settings and steps are correct and what should I do to make the drive visible?
  10. That will be the issue. However, I solved it making the disc a share and deleted them using explorer.
  11. Hi, I can't get this command to work. It says syntax error near unexpected token `do' In my case I typed do find /mnt/disk$6/Movies T-NET Server -type d -empty -print; done and then pressed enter. What am I doing wrong?
  12. Hi, I'm using some of these, spread across all available power lines from the PSU https://www.startech.com/nl-nl/kabels/pyo4sata
  13. Hi, I also use a IBM ServeRAID M1015 SAS/SATA RAID Controller with 8 ports. In total I have 9 discs installed: 8 WD RED pro's 16TB and a 2TB SSD for cache.
  14. Hi, The server is running perfectly! Not much to say about it actually. Ripped all my 1350+ movies, partly using the built in Pioneer UHD-drive and MakeMKV docker. Also added another WD drive, so it's 8 in total now. I'm not using VM's, so can't comment on that. BTW, also very satisfied with the Define 7 XL case. If you are looking for something with space this is a very nice one.
  15. Thanks Vr2Io! Using Unbalanced seems a good way to do this. The only thing I have to figure out is why it uses the cache disc when I move the files to the other drive. I did disable the cash in the share settings.
  16. I need some help! I want to move files from one disc to another using the unbalaced plugin. The drive I want to copy the file to belongs to a share where I disabled the cache (for the time being). The drive I copy the file from also used to be part of the same share, but I de-selected it. What I don't understand is the fact that unBalanced still uses the cache drive and I can't copy to the selected disc directly. Where do I change that? Edit: somehow it works now as it should. No idea what I did wrong.
  17. Thanks for your help. After doing this I still can see the files from that disc in the share. So it really only affects new files as you say? Is there no way to 'update' the share that these files aren't there anymore? That would make more sense to me. Or do I have to make a new share? Edit: I found this helpful topic that explains it. I'm not so into the command lines thing, but I think I understand what you mean. But as far as I can see I can use the Unbalance plugin to do this? I believe the unbalance docker checks size automatically.
  18. Hi, I want to remove one of the disks from the share because my rips didn't take as much space as expected. The disc I want to remove from the share (but leave it in the array) has files on it that I want to copy to the original share. Can I simply uncheck the disc in Share settings without losing the data? And, if so, what's the best way to copy the files to the other shares? Use the Krusader docker? Or is a tool like unbalance better? Just double checking before I do something stupid!
  19. My UHD-drive letter changes on reboot IF I have an external drive connected that I already connected before I installed the internal UHD-drive. My theory is that Unraid remembers the drive and assigns the same SG number as the first time the drive is connected. Already deleted the external SSD drive in Historical Devices, but somehow Unraid keeps changing the UHD drive number. Rebooting without the SSD drive attached resets it to the original value. Any ideas how to fix this?
  20. I found the correct value! It was displayed in the dockers settings under the drive I added before.
  21. I bought an internal Pioneer drive and just like the first time with my external drive when I tried to retrieve the /dev/sgx info from the drive I don't see it.. The first time it fixed itself when I made the previous screenshot, no idea how. So here is the current screenshot: No info in the second sg row, and the drive is not recognized by the docker. Any ideas?
  22. I’ve had lot’s of other errors before when I used a flashed UHD friendly drive. I used a Windows pc for ripping at that time. Those issues even paused the whole ripping project. All the problems are gone since I bought the Pioneer drives that are now compatible with MakeMKV. They work perfectly out of the box, using both USB or internal SATA. I have 3 pioneer drives now, one connected to my Unraid server and 2 for my PC and Laptop. Even ordered another internal drive for the Unraid server. They make less noise and rip even faster.
  23. Another question for the experts! 🙂: I'm succesfully ripping discs now using the docker. The output destination is the shared folder I put all my movies in. I was wondering if you have activated the cache drive option for the folder you rip your movies to or not? I didn't activate it until now because I'm also transferring lot's of rips from other computers where I'm also ripping my collection. The thing is I noticed that ripping causes a lot of writes on the HDD connected to the share, or on the cache SSD if I select to use the cache drive. I don't know which is worse. I would expect using the cache because it's an SSD. Using the cache also has the disadvantage that you have to use the mover afterwards. So what's your opinion?
  24. Oops, I feel so stupid. At first I didn't get the info.. Problem solved!
