Is Immich a Docker Image Hog?
Thanks for your quick reply, really appreciate it. So that’s the video I followed but I don’t have some options in the Immich install. Ive just added the --runtime=nvidia in extra parameters. I must of missed that and I’ve set cuda in the MACHINE_LEARNING_GPU_ACCELERATION however I don’t have the NVIDIA_VISIBLE_DEVICES Or NVIDIA_DRIVER_CAPABILITIES are these something that have to be out in manually? thanks again

Is Immich a Docker Image Hog?
Hi Guys, Sorry to jump on but I see yous both have immich working. Can I ask about the screenshots you have attached? I have immich running from the community apps and it has its own folder with the machine learning in the app data folder. When you ask about container size is this the same setup as mine? I kind of understand docker and containers but unraid implements them differently? I don’t think my ML is working even though I set it to cuda when configuring it and I just noticed that uploading from the webpage ain’t working either. Im two minds of just deleting everything and starting again but I wouldn’t be too sure on how to setup a proper docker container in unraid, Most of the guides are working with docker. Sorry for the rant and questions but you two seems to have it working as expected.

Windows 10VM Help Really bad Geekbench score
Hi All, First thanks for taking the time to read this. I am pretty new to VM’s on unraid and have decided to set up a VM for gaming. My unraid server consists of Dual Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2695 v2 @ 2.40GHz each one with 12 cores and 24 threads. I have 256GB of memory, A Nvidia Quadro K2200 GPU. An array of 14 Drives and a pool of 2 512gb ssd’s for cache. I followed spaceinvaders old video of setting windows 10 as a gaming vm and gave the machine 500gb of HD space, I don’t think its using an ssd but that’s for another discussion. The VM seems to be ok but not really that fast, and I noticed that the cpu usage would go very high when just trying to install something. I installed Geekbench and ran a cpu test and got a really bad score of 392 For single core and 1530 for multi core. I installed Nvidia drivers on the VM and will proceed to run the Gpu benchmark but below is the cpu details displayed in Geekbench. Is there some step I have missed? Name Intel Xeon E5-2695 v2 Topology 1 Processor, 4 Cores, 8 Threads Identifier GenuineIntel Family 6 Model 62 Stepping 4 Base Frequency 2.40 GHz Cluster 1 4 Cores Maximum Frequency 3004 MHz Package Socket 2011 LGA Codename Ivy Bridge-EP/EX L1 Instruction Cache 32.0 KB x 4 L1 Data Cache 32.0 KB x 4 L2 Cache 256 KB x 4 L3 Cache 30.0 MB x 1 Thanks in advance

Anyone any help on this?

4 card Nic & Bonding is enabled. Questions??
Hi All, I am trying to get around to setting up Nginx reverse proxy on my server. I have a 4 port NIC installed from setup and it appears to be to be set to yes for enable bonding and bonding mode is active backup 1. Before i noticed this I ran another cable to my server and plugged it into a second port on the NIC. My thinking was that I could set Nginx with a different IP than the one my server and other apps are using. Would that be the way to do it? Or can I configure it with a different IP the way its currently set? If I turned bonding off would that release the other 3 nics with there own MAC address? And then I could give it its own IP. I did notice that VM’s get there own IP’s so maybe I am just over thinking it? Any help appreciated.

App Updates Best Practice
By going into the container and running a manual update/upgrade? The last thing I want to do is mess it up

App Updates Best Practice
Hi All, Just curios on the best way to update? I currently have Nextcloud, MariaDB, Swag, Uptime Kuba, Dashy and a few other little things running. I normally update when I get a notification that an update is available. Is this best practice? I’m guessing the docker container gets updated and pulls down the latest update for the required app? I just down want to run into an issue like I had in Truenas where my Nextcloud wasn’t getting updated then the version went too far ahead to be updated. Any advise appreciated. Thanks

Wazuh App/Docker/VM
Yeah it looks a bit daunting to be honest. I might just go down the VM route.

Wazuh App/Docker/VM
Just putting this into the general support section, Has anyone any ideas what the best way to install Wazuh is? I know it can be put on a VM or a docker container but I ain’t too sure how to do a docker container that isn’t an app. has anyone any ideas to share? Thanks

NextCloud update and is now broken
I have nextcloud running for the last couple of months, I normally just update the docker container when I get a notification there is an update. Have I been doing it wrong? This is one of the main reasons I switched from Truenas to unraid. I had too many issues with updates on Truenas. I was under the impression that when I get a notification that my nectloud has an update or any other apps for that matter that the docker update does everything needed to be done. After all my updates over the last few months I am now running on Nextcloud Hub 5 version 27.0.0. Just checking the webpage and it does say a new version is available, 27.0.2 and I have the option to open updater....

Dell R720 How to Boot to USB all the time
It’s the same for me, once I reboot it doesn’t come back by itself. I have to login to the idrac and either reboot a few times or shut it down and start it up again. not a big deal but I’m obviously missing something. I also have the lifecycle controller disabled so I though that might have something to do with it.. oh and my usb is booting from the internal usb port..

Dell R720 How to Boot to USB all the time
Deadly.. I’ll look into the gpu power cable. Think I have a spare GPU lying around. still need to figure out if it’s possible to stream the games, the server is in my attic..

Dell R720 How to Boot to USB all the time
Thanks for the detailed reply. I’ve managed to flash the bios to the latest using idrac, haven’t messed around with the power saving settings as yet and I never thought of the nvme adapter for cache drives. I’ll be ordering two adapters and drives for a cache drives. was thinking of also picking up a low profile gpu for playing some games at some stage . Cheers again

Some basic questions for a new unraid user
Is there a guide for using Backup/Restore? I was thinking of backing up to USB but I see this on the settings page. NOTE: USB Backup is deprecated on Unraid version 6.9.0 It is advised to use the Unraid.net plugin instead Any help appreciated

Some basic questions for a new unraid user
I think I’m getting the hang of it. Since my cache drive has gone in it has moved the appdata, domains and iso folder to the cache drive and because I only have one cache drive they ain’t protected.

Some basic questions for a new unraid user
Appdata plugin? Is that an app?

Some basic questions for a new unraid user
So I see in the shares tab the appdata folder is set to “prefer” so Mover transfers from the array to cache. Prior to my cache drive going in everything sat on the array and was protected by parity I’m guessing? What happens when the cache drive fills up? I thought the cache drive was just to be used for speed then would be transferred to the array overnight etc. I will always have the triangle error as long as I am running one cache drive? Unless I set the appdata folder to yes? Then the cache drive will transfer to the array when mover is run I’m just trying to understand exactly how it all works and what’s the best practice.

Some basic questions for a new unraid user
I have also just noticed that my appdata has a yellow triangle now and is saying “some or all files are unprotected”. I also noticed that nearly 5 gig is been used on my cache drive. All I have done since installing it is create some users in my nextcloud. Is there something I should be doing to have the setup running properly?

Some basic questions for a new unraid user
Hi All, I am looking for some advice on how things should be set up. I currently have an 8 disk array each disk is 1tb, I will be adding more in the future. I just installed a 500g ssd and configured it as a cache pool. I have nextcloud, Mariadb for nextcloud and cloudfared tunnel installed apps and they had all been installed before I put the cache drive in. I have a SMB share configured also. My question is should all apps be setup to use the ssd cache drive? If they are the Mover would then transfer to the disk array when set and the cache drive clears itself? Is that how it works? What would be the best practice? I can see some videos on YouTube but a lot of them seem to be a couple of years old and I’m guessing some features have been added to unraid. I haven’t started to add photos and such to nextcloud but I am wondering about back in up things going forward? Is there a one click backup everything and if shit hits the fan it can be restored? Again what would be best practice? Sorry if these have been answered before but for some reason its hard to find up to date guides. Thanks

New Member New Build
Thanks guys, Seem to have it running smoothly.. It’s probably a bit overkill for what I need but I plan on having some good app running. Have nextcloud up and running with a bit more config to do. Unraid seems to be very user friendly so far.
