LSI Controller Temp monitoring
Thanks very much for the reply and sorry for the delay. I have checked with running the command sensors and this does not show my LSI 9305 HBA. This is what is shown though. Any idea if this can be incorporated in to a future build or if I can get this on the home screen with a plugin? root@HAL-UNRAID:~# sensors coretemp-isa-0000 Adapter: ISA adapter CPU Temp: +40.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 0: +32.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 4: +40.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 8: +30.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 12: +33.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 16: +31.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 20: +31.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 24: +31.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 28: +29.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 32: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 33: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 34: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 35: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 36: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 37: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 38: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) Core 39: +34.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C) nvme-pci-0100 Adapter: PCI adapter Composite: +36.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +83.8°C) (crit = +84.8°C) Sensor 1: +36.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +65261.8°C) Sensor 2: +37.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +65261.8°C) acpitz-acpi-0 Adapter: ACPI interface MB Temp: +27.8°C (crit = +105.0°C) nct6798-isa-0290 Adapter: ISA adapter in0: 840.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +1.74 V) in1: 992.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in2: 3.39 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in3: 3.33 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in4: 1000.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in5: 1.02 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in6: 0.00 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) in7: 3.39 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in8: 3.15 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in9: 520.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in10: 584.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in11: 544.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in12: 1.05 V (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in13: 568.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM in14: 888.00 mV (min = +0.00 V, max = +0.00 V) ALARM fan1: 631 RPM (min = 0 RPM) fan2: 695 RPM (min = 0 RPM) fan3: 704 RPM (min = 0 RPM) Array Fan: 704 RPM (min = 0 RPM) SYSTIN: +29.0°C (high = +80.0°C, hyst = +75.0°C) sensor = thermistor CPUTIN: +33.5°C (high = +80.0°C, hyst = +75.0°C) sensor = thermistor AUXTIN0: +127.5°C sensor = thermistor AUXTIN1: +17.0°C sensor = thermistor AUXTIN2: +73.0°C sensor = thermistor AUXTIN3: +32.0°C sensor = thermistor PECI Agent 0 Calibration: +32.0°C PCH_CHIP_TEMP: +69.0°C intrusion0: ALARM intrusion1: ALARM beep_enable: disabled nvme-pci-0400 Adapter: PCI adapter Composite: +27.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +74.8°C) (crit = +84.8°C) Sensor 1: +52.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +65261.8°C) Sensor 2: +51.9°C (low = -273.1°C, high = +65261.8°C) ERROR: Can't get value of subfeature temp4_min: I/O error ERROR: Can't get value of subfeature temp4_max: I/O error Sensor 3: +27.9°C (low = +0.0°C, high = +0.0°C) nvme-pci-0200 Adapter: PCI adapter Composite: +26.9°C (low = -0.1°C, high = +82.8°C) (crit = +89.8°C)

B650 Chipset drivers for sensors?
Hey all, hope you're well. I have just bought an Asus PRIME B650M-A mainboard and in need of some drivers (if possible) to allow for sensor readings. I have ran the sensor command and get the following: - root@UNRAID-BACKUP:~# sensors k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI adapter Tctl: +47.8°C Tccd1: +38.0°C amdgpu-pci-0a00 Adapter: PCI adapter vddgfx: 745.00 mV vddnb: 1.24 V edge: +44.0°C PPT: 24.16 W root@UNRAID-BACKUP:~# MOTHERBOARD Temperature: ⋅⋅⋅ °C ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. User uploaded file to /BIN/ getting wiped
Hey all! Still relatively new to the unRAID scene but wondered if anyone can explain the following: - I have an LSI 9305 HBA card and use storcli64 to check stats of my drive and have the storcli64 app placed in the /bin/ dir on the usb stick but every time i reboot, it gets wiped. Can anyone help me understand why this happens? Thanks, Hal

LSI Controller Temp monitoring
Hi All. Can I please request LSI controller card temperature monitoring be considered for a future release so we can monitor this from the dashboard. Some of the LSI series get very hot and would be a benefit to have this displayed and monitored if possible. Might need storcli64 to be included to allow for this to work (in my case anyways having an LSI9305). root@Tower:/bin# ./storcli64 /c0 show temperature CLI Version = 007.2707.0000.0000 Dec 18, 2023 Operating system = Linux 6.1.79-Unraid Controller = 0 Status = Success Description = None Controller Properties : ===================== -------------------------------------- Ctrl_Prop Value -------------------------------------- ROC temperature(Degree Celsius) 48 -------------------------------------- Thanks, Hal

HBA Temperature monitoring
This would be awesome to be able to include this as a plugin to unRAID. I have just got on board with unRAID and and a bit of a stat whore when it comes to system monitoring. And my LSI 9305 controller temp is something I would like to be able to see on the dashboard like what i can do with my IPMI plugin. Let's hope there is someone out there that will be able to provide us with this goodness!

BIOS/Internal Speaker issues - clicking rather than beeping
I have the latest BIOS already for IPMI card and BIOS. I will wait to see if the next Linux kernel addresses the fault. As i say, it is not a big deal but would be nice to have it. As i have found others online with the same fault and looks like a Linux kernel issue, i'll mark as solved. Thanks for the replies! Hal

BIOS/Internal Speaker issues - clicking rather than beeping
Thanks for the reply. I have been searching and found this post on reddit with others with the same issue: - link to reddit Looks like it is a general Linux issue with the chipset possibly?

How do i know what mainboaed is supported?
Just for an update. Bench testing currently and I can confirm all is working well at present (Still waiting for case from Ali Express: - link to case on Ali express). I am using at present, 1 stick of Kingston 48GB 5600MT/s DDR5 ECC CL46 DIMM 2Rx8 Hynix M (running @ 5400MTs just would not pass post) and this is working well @ 5400mt as conformed by memtest86 and showing width of 80 bits to indicate error correction. Plan to get another x3 sticks in the near future. Link to Kingston site To get plex working with my i7 13700k CPU for hardware transcoding, I have had to buy and install and dummy hdmi adaptor. This is working flawlessly now. Link to hdmi on amazon Currently using 8 sata HDD's from the main board and all picked up AOK via onboard x4 sata ports and mini sas x4 to sata. Link to mini sas cable on amazon Only issue so far I cannot resolve and have posted a separate post about it is the internal speaker clicks rather than beeps. Not a deal breaker by far but would be good to get it going for notifications. I have an LSI 9305 on order and will update when I get this with my experience with the card. Hope this helps someone! BIOS/Internal Speaker issues - clicking rather than beeping
Afternoon! Got a bit of an issue with the internal speaker on my system not playing well with unRAID. My issue is: - Installed an internal speaker to the mainboard of my Asus WS680 IPMI mainboard. When it boots, I hear the speaker loud and clear (working perfectly fine). When booted in to unRAID, I have clicking sounds and no tones. I have attempted to play beep songs from github and all of these just click but do not provide an Audible tone. Is this just a driver issue or am i missing a setting/command within unRAID to change from clicks to tones? Thanks, Hal

Cache drive upgrade
Hi all. I'm still new to the unRAID scene and currently a few weeks in to my trial and making lots of progress learning how all works and and how to configure. Currently testing with the following: - Asus W680 IPMI mainboard - new Intel i7 13600 CPU - new 48GB ECC RAM - new 6x 2TB sata drives - old 3x 4TB sata drive - old 1x 256gb NVME drive for cache - old As I am still buying in all the hardware I want to use, I have been running off of bits I have laying around that included a 256gb NVME drive I have been using for my cache in my TEMP setup and now I have my 21TB NVME drive, I want to migrate to using this. Currently I am using a lot of docker containers appdata saved to the cache drive and do not have a mover configured for this. I have also configured domains and system to use the cache location. This is a test system so not to fussed about the lot going down (you learn from your mistakes) but if I can get some guidance on how to do this right the first way, that would be ace! My question is: - How to I replace my single cache drive for my larger one? Is there a process documented or can anyone advise on what I need to do. Thanks all, Hal

Wireless Unraid
+1 for me! WiFi would be great for me for another interface to use alongside the LAN. My Asus W680 board supports WiFi and I have a WiFi6 Setup and would love to be able to use WiFi in unRAID with my Intel AX211 M.2 card. I know cabled connections are always going to be stronger and more reliable than WiFi but it would be great to have WiFi support built in to use if we wanted to.

How do i know what mainboaed is supported?
Thanks very much for the reply! I have found the board I want that is going to be the Asus Pro workstation W680 IPMI Link to Asus site for W680 and have just bought it. It has all of the features I want and will save me having to get a controller card for a short while. There's lot of people saying they have got it working but the ipmi card has a few issues with plex and quick sync that i plan on using it with but my end game is to get a GPU like nVidia rtx**** to do transcoding so not to fussed. I am still waiting for my ecc ram to turn up and will let you all know, when it gets here along with my case my results. Speak soon, Hal

How do i know what mainboaed is supported?
Hi All. Noob to the forum and unRaid but I have a question with regards compatibility of mainboard. I am looking to build a brand new unRaid setup based round an LGA1700 socket CPU and just want to find out how I can tell if the board will be supported. Looking to install eventually an LSI 9305-16i card, POSSIBLY an nVidia GPU for plex transcoding and down the line, another nic. I will be running various docker containers including PLEX and a windows VM that will only be running when needed. I just want to make sure I am buying a board that will be supported but not too sure what to look for when browsing. If anyone can give me some pointers, that would be ace! Thanks, Hal

Best HBA controller for 18TB drives
So I have dug out my old HP Microserver gen8 to give unRaid a bit of a 30 day trial test installing the OS (running from USB stick🫠) and do like the interface. Tonight, going to have a play with share permissions and VM's and docker containers. I know Sata connection will be good for unRaid but eventually having 12 drives, I want to keep it nice and neat inside the case and only having 3 data cables going from the controller to the back pane will be what I am going for rather than an army of Sata cables. Is there anyone on the forum that have experience in getting 18TB Seagate drives running on the LSI 9300-16i or above? I know the 9300 runs very hot and the 9305 runs cooler with only 1 control chip as opposed to 2 chips but with the cooling in the case, should not be an issue but if I can have a bit lower power consumption, that would be great. I have had a search online trying to find people with real world experience but not finding much in the 18 TB realm so if any one can point me in the right direction, thanks:)

Best HBA controller for 18TB drives
Fair play. I did not know this. As I say, still new to the custom NAS scene but just want to move from Synology and unRaid looks to me one of my best options. Still waiting for the case to arrive and will be testing the OS when this is all built before i migrate all of my data over.

Best HBA controller for 18TB drives
Good afternoon all and hope you're all well. I am looking to start my unRaid journey (moving from Synology) and specing up the hardware I want to use and one of the main questions I have is: - What HBA controller to use for an army of x12 18TB drives. Not going to be using 12 to start off with but want o get a HBA controller that is going to support this capacity drive. Case I have bought to house these drivers and my built is the following: - Link to case I have plenty of room for full height cards and ample cooling for cards like the LSI 9300-i16 that are known to run hot. I just want to make sure I am future proofed for large sized drives and will Probably stay Sata mechanical drives. I have been using WD reds in a Synology 1515+ now for around 7 years and have had a good experience with these drives but might possibly going for Seagate this time round. I will be using 2 NVME drives in a mirror for my OS drive on my mainboard and just use the mechanical drives for pure storage and docker VM's. Mainboard and CPU still have to be confirmed but with the size of the case, I can get an ATX board in there so lots of options. But main question is: - What HBA controller will be best for my build that will be reliable and fit for purpose. Thanks all and looks forward to the replies. Hal
