  1. Im starting to think that the reason I cant start a Docker and I am getting this error is because I am on a trial version? I just went back into my old server and docker works fine there. The old server is marganially worse spec wise then my current rig so I know the new rig can handle everything fine its just getting it setup is the problem. I will transfer my license to the new server once completed. I will create a new/seperate thread with questions about the actual migration of ssds but I need to get my new server setup properly beforehand. - Thanks
  2. I have m.2 drives in the rig. Plus when I get everything setup on the new rig I am bringing all my 2.5in ssds from current unraid server into it. I would like to use the entire 250 gb m.2 drive as my Windows 11 Pro vm and the 2tb m.2 as the games folder just like I have it setup in Windows 11 Pro on my gaming pc right now. I created an entire image file for restore into a vm. If I set that m.2 as the drive for the VM cant I use the restore image to restore my Windows 11 Pro install? If not I will just install a fresh 11 Pro and transfer the files manually from the backup. My issue still remains on the libvert though. What are the steps to fully allocated the entire 250gb m.2 to a VM to use for Windows 11 Pro? Thanks!
  3. I have created the diagnostic zip file. I have attached it. Thanks home-server-diagnostics-20260326-1629.zip
  4. Do You think this has anything to do with the fact I am using a trial key until I get this working and then I can move my license?
  5. No, I mean the VM wont boot. I am in/can get into Unraid OS. Thanks
  6. Ok well, then in my case I had this exact same error come up; however, I was doing something a bit different. I had/have 1 gpu installed and everything works fine. I shutdown, installed the second card, checked everything in bios, but when I boot up again I get the same issue as OP. "Libvirt Service failed to start." and it wont even boot. I remove the second card and it works fine. I did enable and check everything in bios and it reads/registers both cards but Unraid is throwing that issue. I cant post a diagnostic when it wont boot. I can post one now if You wish but I have since removed the secondary card (verified working as its my old one that I replaced only because of the single fan would make alot of noise during gaming so got a 3 fan one) Both cards are the same card just different models. Would a diagnostic now solve anything that the card has been removed? Thanks
  7. Im not sure if I am suppose to jump onto another thread or not but I just built a new server and I am running into the same issue.
  8. Oh ... ok. So I will try to get better at using the forums but in the meantime I will assume no support for No-Ip and re-install Tailscale. After I do that I will reply to this thread. Regards
  9. Agreed, no reason for multiple threads. I thought I put my original post for this thread in the correct section but I guess since I am now in Tailscale thread I have to use Tailscale. Cant find any information about using the No-IP that I already have to work correctly. Will update this thread with new data after I reinstall and attempt Tailscale again. Regards
  10. Unless You mean initially when I was told to ask my question in the other forum?
  11. I am only replying to comments. The thread has been moved a couple times now so I think it appears as seperate threads. Regards
  12. I used the plugin before and couldnt get it to work. Should I try the docker version? I have a dynamic ip and I want a static ip and heard Tailscale can do that. I couldnt get the No-IP address that I was given to work so I am trying Tailscale again. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
  13. Got it, Tailscale or nothing I guess .... onto that forum. Go ahead and close this if You wish.
  14. Hi Jorge and other's. My issue is setting, configuring, etc a static ip for my server vs the dynamic ip assigned by my comcast. The reason this thread keeps getting moved is because of a preference between Tailscale and No-IP so Moderators believe it should belong in one of those instead of the general support for not being able to set a static ip. Im willing to try either option Tailscale or No-Ip although I already have the details needed for the No-Ip and not yet the Tailscale which seems much more difficult to configure. Where can I turn?
  15. Is that linked channel Official UnRaid? If that is the official UnRaid channel then I suggest grouping Your videos by version so that all videos only are in the playlist of the version they were introduced in or are compatible with. That would avoid watching an outdated video tutorial for a new version os. Regards
  16. Yup, I know and some of that is current and helpful and some of it is not. Same for all the other videos from other channels I watched. Would be great to have an official channel with all the changes, updates, fixes, how-to's, project showcases, etc. made based on the direct knowledge of the developers at the launch of each change/fix/update I would think. Start from the beginning (fresh install) and then tutorials etc based on each feature/app that is offered. If that feature/app is updated then UnRaid would know and can just make the update video to it. If the user doesnt want to update their app then the old video would still apply just fine. How this is effecting Me is the app and tutorial video/texts for those apps dont evolve 1:1 so I watch the most current video but the menu/feature etc is not present in UI same as in video. Regards
  17. Thanks for the added information. The reason I dont have the Tailscale data that is requested is because I removed Tailscale after I couldnt get it to work. I got an IP from No-IP which seems to function but I have idea how to tie it to a dynamic IP that my router assigns my server. So to be honest and fair my real issue is that; regardless of what software I am using, I am unsure (probably my own stupidity) on how to convert my Comcast Dynamic IP to Static IP regardless if my Dynamic IP changes. Again sorry that I have no more information to add as my original question was about No-Ip and I kinda got drawn into Tailscale now because it seems like the only viable way to get this issue fixed using the support forums here. So if I am understanding correctly I would need to remove my no-ip from server and install Tailscale again at which time I can get the remaining support needed to make this work? Thanks again.
  18. So maybe this has been proposed before but I think UnRaid should start making their own tutorials. Currently everyone needs to utilize outdated or potentially unsecure methods they found via Youtube which are no longer accurate/updated to each UnRaid release. I propose that the people best suited to make tutorial videos about UnRaid should be UnRaid. I can only assume that UnRaid could make the best videos (they created the software) and You could make lots of videos first on everything stock Unraid from installation to finalization. When a customer puts in a request like "How do I install Unraid" or "What does XXXXXX feature do" then UnRaid could link their own Youtube video link. You could then branch out even more with feature or app specific videos and tutorials for each individual feature of Unraid and its apps. Finally also having a podcast, guest appearances, commercials/advertisements, upcoming features etc all on Youtube would be a nice centralized, updated, and reliable source for all things Unraid for those of Us that dont have the time to read pages of manuals, wait for support replies etc. Also I hear You can get paid and can sell merch on Youtube ........ sounds like a no-brainer to Me. Regards
  19. I wasnt aware there was a dedicated section to Tailscale. Can this thread be moved or is it fine here? I havent even checked if I have access to other forums as I think this is my first thread. Im green to Unraid but bought lifetime license jumping in head first I guess. Thanks.
  20. If wondering the program that I was able to get working correctly (but still need to get the static ip) was a program called "No-IP" Regards
  21. Hi, @Frank1940 I tried Tailscale first. I wasnt able to get it working; installed and configured yes but not working. Furthermore if anyone is wondering, I plan to run the website hosting software (I currently use Plesk; which is considered pretty secure as it comes from the same people that make cpanel) self contained in a docker container. Wouldnt that negate the "Unraid isnt recommended for Hosting a website" issue? I plan to install Ubuntu in a container then install Plesk on top of it as its designed to be. Also even if I dont host a website with Unraid wouldnt I need to open the server to outside access/traffic to be able to access my server remotely? Whether its by FTP or if I wanted to watch a movie from my server while on the road I would need my server to be remotely accessible. I am completely new to Unraid, have the server setup locally secured and loaded with my files. Everything seems to be working great but now I wonder how to access it remotely which is why I am here. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Regards
  22. Hello, I have Comcast Home (dynamic ip not static) and I have messed with Tailscale and another app that is suppose to allow Me to access my server remotely outside my home network. I cant get that to work. Is this possible without a static ip? Can I set one that would allow Me to host a website, access my server remotely or something similar like hosting my own wiki that can be accessed online/remotely? I own domain names so I could point one to my server if I could get a static ip but that seems not possible with Comcast without a business plan. What are my options? Regards
