  1. No. It's all gone now, but I can tell you that there was no useful information before these lines. Before these lines it was all expected info related to an rsync command I had run earlier in the day.
  2. Well, I'm having difficulty with my server locking up during file transfer again. I haven't changed any hardware at all, other than adding a few drives. I have changed the server version to 4.7, though. What happens is I will begin a large file transfer (usually 4.5GB ISO files) and then everything just stops... The web interface, telnet, the transfer... everything. After a hard power cycle everything comes back up. This time I managed to capture some info in a running telnet session window. Can anyone make any sense of this info: root@UNRAID:/mnt# Message from syslogd@UNRAID at Wed Jan 26 07:21:15 2011 ... 3. I was inspecting my syslog today and I noticed the following entries that appear to be related to unmenu: Nov 27 08:27:35 UNRAID unmenu[1479]: bad method -80-^M Nov 27 08:29:55 UNRAID unmenu[1479]: gawk: ./800-unmenu-goscriptv0.6.1.awk:55: warning: escape sequence `\.' treated as plain `.' Nov 27 08:29:55 UNRAID unmenu[1479]: gawk: ./800-unmenu-goscriptv0.6.1.awk:539: warning: escape sequence `\/' treated as plain `/' Are these anything that I need to worry about? If so, are they fixable?
  4. Joe... Sorry for reposting a conf file that comes standard with unmenu. I've made so many of these conf files for my own use I don't know which are mine and which ones I downloaded anymore. However, I did just notice that you have a comment at the top that identifies the version of unmenu that this conf shipped with. I never noticed that before. At any rate... I am just trying to share with others the pieces that I am using to make the system as a whole work for me.
  5. Well, sorry... I don't have documentation prepared. But I can tell you that I use the software at this site for the server (windows) side of things: http://www.itefix.no/i2/node/10650 And, attached is the UnMenu package conf for the rsync package that I have installed on my unraid server. Once those 2 things are installed properly then it is only a matter of a 'rsyncd.conf' file with your settings on the windows side and then a shell script on the unraid side to kick the process off. Maybe another time (when it's not so late in the evening) I can share more info about how I configured these files for my use. rsync-unmenu-package.conf
  6. Instead of running an Rsync service on the Unraid side and then pushing the backup from my workstations to Unraid, I do it the other way around. I have an Rsync process running on the workstation and then I start the backup from the Unraid side via cron jobs. This way I can schedule diferrent backup configs that pull from the same machine (i.e. daily into one folder and weekly into another.) I also use this method to pull daily & weekly backups of my flash-drive to a drive on my array.
  7. I've been enjoying streaming music to my Android phone since this tutorial was first posted. A BIG Thanks to you kapperz. I did donate and I have a license key. Is there any way to pass license key during startup so that I don't have to log in and install the key everytime my server is restarted?
  8. Yes... I have to agree. This forum is like no other that I've ever visited before.

    SSD for Cache Drive

Yes... Two very good points. I completely understand and agree so far. Does anyone else have input?
  10. Has anyone used an SSD for the Cache drive. I'm thinking that since the purpose of the cache drive is to speed up writes to the array that a fast SSD might be a good idea. What are your thoughts?
  11. No. Nothing new. In spite of promises to address any issues with missing libraries there has been no response.
  12. My email is running OK now. Joe -- thank you for the command line to test. I believe my issue was that I needed to change to port 465 because I am using Gmail.
  13. I am running unmenu v1.3. I have the mail and ssmtp package configured. From the package manager everything appears to be installed correctly. For the configuration variables I only changed the email account, email ID and account password variables to match my gmail account. I downloaded and installed the mail_status-unmenu-package.conf package. At the moment I have it set to send updates to 'root'. So, I added 'echo "[email protected]" >/root/.forward' to seed the .forward file. I don't seem to be receiving email. Am I missing a step? Is there a way to manually send an email to test? Before, I did have unraid notify working properly.
  14. Attached is a .conf file for the unmenu package manager: bwm-ng-unmenu-package.conf

    Google Voice

WeeboTech & VampyreGTX are the Winners!!!! Enjoy. Tell us all what you discover. Just when I thought I understood what Google Voice is all about I discover a new feature!

    Google Voice

I do not think that it provides Skype like functinality at all. It is different. Another cool feature is how it will email your voice mail to you. I have 3 invites that I can give away. I'll give 2 of them to my unRaid friends. I believe it would require that you PM an email address to me. I'd recommend a gmail address if you have one. First come first serve.

    Google Voice

I'm still trying to understand all that it is supposed to do. I'm fairly impressed at how it turns my voice mails into SMS messages.
  18. Happy Holidays from Salem, Oregon, USA!!
  19. Currently, I am installing mail-0.20-noarch-unRAID.tgz along with unraid_notify on every boot. Is this no longer needed. It appears that mail v0.20 is also packaged in unraid_notify-2.52-noarch-unRAID.tgz
  20. I am running Cache_Dirs v1.6 from an unmenu "go script" as follows: /boot/custom/bin/cache_dirs -w -B -i "Media" I then have a cron job that checks for duplicate files between disks of a share once per hour. If a dupe is found a notification is sent to me (via SMS) and then I execute the following to stop the cache_dirs process: /boot/custom/bin/cache_dirs -q >>/var/log/syslog 2>&1 The problem is that the process is not stopping. If I telnet to my server and attempt to restart cache_dirs I receive an error that it is already running. Then after stopping the process from the terminal I am able to restart. Is there some special way that I should be stopping the process when in a shell script???
  21. Kapperz... It's running and I'm streaming music through my browser right now!! I'm thinking of donating to get rid of the ads and to get my own license key. Under user settings there is a message that "LAME doesn't appear to be installed" next to the 'Max Bitrate' drop-down. But, it appears that lames exists in the transcode directory. Did I do something wrong during install?
  22. I wish I could do the same for all the pieces but the JRE file is the only one with a direct download.
  23. See attached for a JRE .conf file for the unMenu Package Manager.
