  1. It was available online also starting last weekend I believe. It's just sold out now.
  2. Too bad I didn't think to mention it here... Frys had it for $65 for the past 2 weeks shipped. If you're one of the unlucky Newegg customers who gets charged tax it would have been decent for you. If you don't get taxed at Newegg, then this is all for you!
  3. Ya I can't see how they can get that hot. I'd much rather have 2x60mm fans over my single 80mm on my Icy Dock. My only thought is that my ID has slits going across the entire front of each of the bays... this iStar doesn't seem to have much airflow up front. I'm not sure how sealed those compartments are.
  4. If you decide to get that 400w Corsair (which yes is a fantastic deal and a great PSU - I bought 2 in the past month)... try this promo code to see if it's still working EMCLRLN23 . It's an additional $10 off (I got each of mine at that price ~ $30 after rebate). I can't test the code since it's limited to once per account.
  5. Better yet the Cooler Master Centurion 590... it can hold 15 Drives up front if you use 3x5.25 to 3.5in. Bay convertors. It's only $64.99 shipped at Frys right now.

    80 Plus PSU

Yes you're being very foolish trusting your setup with that Rosewill. I highly recommend replacing it with something a bit more recommended and.... reliable lol. Don't sacrifice reliability for something like getting your setup quieter or cheaper. You won't be crying if you hear a barely audible hum off in the corner of your room or closet... but you will be if that thing dies and takes out several hard drives and whatever other components it wants to with it. Here is a fantastic run down of current PSU's: http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx . He updates the list pretty regularly too.
  7. Price wise, and in my opinion, there's no point with going for a single core AMD CPU right now. You can get a BE-2x00 CPU (45W - dual core... more than enough speed) for $25 if you're patient or $35-40 if you want it right now. That's what I would do and that's my recommendation.
  8. I love this board, I've been using it in my Server 08 box with a Phenom 9600 for everything I can't do with my UnRaid server (ripping, converting, encoding, SQL hosting, torrenting, etc. without doing some crazy virtual machine hoopla). I'm very happy to see that it is working as an UnRaid compatible board because I would surely use it in another build if I ever did one. This board is supposedly one of the most energy efficient (if not the most) boards you can get excluding atom boards etc. I had mine running with a BE-2400 before I moved up to the Quad and everything was very peachy. Excellent news fellas, I have some friends looking to do an UnRaid build soon and the Abit AB9 Pro (which is powering my current UnRaid server) is becoming scarce/pricey to buy not to mention the company is practically dead. Drop in a couple PCI-E 2xSATA cards along with a beefy PCI-E x16 8xSATA card and you have yourself a filled out server. I always wanted to try this board in an UnRaid build because of how low cost you can do the build for (my original Server 08 build cost me under $150 for everything: $45 for motherboard, $30 for CPU, $15 for 4GB ram, $40 Case/PSU, 2xSATA drives laying around) not to mention HIGHLY energy efficient.
  9. Sorry for no update... yes I already received both of my cards and yes they are working great (although I don't need them yet since my AB9 Pro has so many onboard options).
  10. Heh, I went through 52 rebates last August to get $150 in my pocket and a free HP dv6426us Laptop . Rebates do not scare me one bit lol!!! Thanks for the info though... so much information is scattered across these forums that it is hard to get everything straight! I think I am going to drop 2 of these Rosewill's into my AB9 pro and then expand later on with something beefy in my x16 slot (when I need to expand past what the AB9 can handle).
  11. Anyone know if this will work with an UnRaid setup? It's only $5 after rebate right now through Newegg. I only planned on using 1 SATA connector per PCI-E lane anyway so this would be really nice at $5 a pop. I'm pretty sure it should be fine (SiL 3132 chipset same as RC-211 which I heard does in fact work)... I just want to double check before I commit to buying 2 of these.
  12. Hah I recently was thinking about this since I've been dabbling with the free version for about a month now... guess what... one of my USB drives failed lol! I never had it happen before and was extremely surprised when it did. Of course this made me start thinking about what would happen if it did happen and made me second guess buying the Pro version of this software. I'm glad that there is an official answer to this problem and that there is in fact light at the end of the tunnel!
  13. I am now suffering from the same "Verifying DMI pool data..." message. I've tried a 2nd USB stick with no luck and am about to try a 3rd. Is there anything else that could be causing this error? Is my data still intact on the drive? I noticed that my server went down a few hours ago when it was moving some files from 1 drive to the other (3 drives total). I went upstairs to see what was up to find it stalled at the "Verifying DMI message." I have no idea what caused it and am running out of ideas to fix it. edit: Tried 3rd stick and still no good... edit2: I'm back up... lots of trial and error, bios settings, different usb sticks... finally back and rebuilding one of my drives. Phew... I found out that someone was messing with the breakers today and must have switched the one the server was on (haven't put in a UPS yet since this is pretty new). But... pheew.
