that's a great idea !! php is definitely not my forte, i spend more time, checking what functions do than actually following the code however, i asked for some help in the programming section here and itimpi gave me a great suggestion that i will be exploring, hopefully this will help.

hello all ! i'm having some trouble with unbalanced and cache pools, basically i can't identify the root device in a cache pool with multiple devices (i'm not sure what links them together in disks.ini) i want to identify the root device, to show only that disk in the ui and avoid users targeting sub-disks for move/copy i/o now, is it ok to target a sub-disk in a move or copy operation ? maybe unraid's fs directs the i/o to the correct "disk/device" ? if that's the case, i would show all the cache disks in the ui any suggestions ? 😀

i absolutely agree with you, it's just that i haven't found a workable solution to the issue, there's obviously a way to do it (the web ui can distinguish them), alas it has eluded me so far i remember reading the web ui code, but couldn't quite grasp it i'll take another stab, now that i updated a couple of things in the app some previous versions of unbalanced (unBALANCE then) used diskmv internally, since it was a robust solution to transfer files around via the command line i switched to rsync later on (diskmv also uses rsync internally), mainly to have more control over the rsync process (to show ui progress, etc) i left the reference in the app, as a thank you to Freddie (fellow unraid member, creator of diskmv) (maybe i have it pointing to the wrong url ? will check 😀)

hi, published 2024.08.09 - fixed an issue where disks with no items (gather) caused a crash (this was an issue reported on github) - updated packages - improved speed calculation (after rate change) (i thought i had published this already 🤷‍♂️)

iirc, Unraid's web ui aggregates ? also not sure what happens if someone chooses one of the "sub disks" as target or source 🤷‍♂️

exactly, that's why i was aggregating the disks in a cache pool, in any case, i'll give it some more thought

i strip spaces and numbers from a disk name and create a map to identify pool disks, but that is failing not sure what you mean with disk at the beginning i think what i was trying to merge disks with name Cache, Cache2, Cache3 and so on, for multi disk pools not really sure what's the best way to approach this to be honest

try and select some children folder(s) of the current folder you're selecting, see if that helps/solves it

hi, instead of selecting /media, select the folders below: 4kmovies, for example the plugin tries to move the immediate children of the selection, since 4kmovies is 7Tb, it doesn't find a disk with that free size when you select 4kmovies itself, it will transfer each children folder individually, which will be certainly smaller

can you share your log (/var/log/controlr.log) ?

the data looks ok from the plugin point of view, in any case i posted a new version of the plugin (2024.06.25), that changes the way the ups binary is invoked (now it always uses 127.0.0.1 as the argument)

hi, there's an issue with cache pools, the logic to detect them doesn't work appropriately at the moment, haven't really had time to look into it in any case, if you can share your `/var/local/emhttp/disks.ini` (remove any sensitive info you want), i'll have more data to find a better solution as soon as i have some time to work on the plugin 🙏

ControlR 6.5.0 is available on Apple and Google stores ! v6.5.0 There was a change in the logic to detect dockers and vms, customized icons for dockers will only display if they're on a path that's reachable externally, if the path is not exposed to the web ui, it will display a question mark (as a placeholder)
