  1. Everything but that 47 degrees is acceptable in my opinion. Especially when it's checking parity. Keep an eye on the 47 degree drive, or see if anything is blocking airflow over a bunch of drives.
  2. Anything over 42 degrees and I'd start to look at better cooling solutions.
  3. First glance - Latest beta shows my Backup share as a TimeMachine destination. Haven't done a backup yet, but I have faith
  4. Hey Tom - quick question... Is it possible to say if you've changed anything in the webGui php files (in the release notes) whenever you release an update? At the moment I have to compare code for each of the files, takes a while to do. Just a thought Also, I see you're now using the Official build of Netatalk, not the open source version? How much did that set you back :o
  5. Nice one. Feedback always welcome, post in the thread!
  6. That sounds about right! Let it run.
  7. As long as the disks come up as either MBR-Unaligned or MBR-4kaligned, you can start the array. The filesystem will be unknown until you start the array, because they haven't been mounted yet
  8. Perhaps you should try and find out? I've given you some pointers. Start with a fresh OS on an external drive. That will decide whether or not your computer is at fault, or if unRAID is giving you some jit. If it's unRAID, try setting up your shares from scratch again. Make sure your usernames are lower case, and your passwords have no special characters in them. Someone who has knowledge of such things will come along and say which particular conf files need to be removed to start fresh without invalidating parity. Again (and I say this after repeating it to you before), you're using Beta software, on a new release of an OS. Expect these issues.
  9. ....Or... instead of causing yourself problems down the line from editing system files, upgrade to the latest unRAID beta. At this point speeding_ant you are the ONLY one with unRaid working with osx lion. Are you using a server version or GM that you bootlegged off the internet? Because everyone using a legit copy bought from apple is having these problems...except you. Not saying you are a liar but it just seems like you are the luckiest man in the world, you should go buy some lottery tickets or something. As far as the advice to update to 5.0b9 yea I did that and it still doesn't work, but then again AFP has NEVER worked for me on unraid...netatalk 2.2 or not... Have you got a USB external drive? If so, I suggest installing Lion onto it and testing your own setup. As mentioned, you may have found a bug with disk shares and AFP. I don't use disk shares with AFP, so I can't comment on that setup. I'm an Apple developer, have been using it since DP2. The GM is the same build as release. HTH
  10. Yeah they seem to be based in a few different places! They must pool their stock levels throughout their branches. Looking forward to this case
  11. That case appears to be in stock at quietpc.com in New Zealand at $193.69 NZD http://www.quietpc.com/nz-en-nzd/products/pc-cases/ms1000-hs2 Are these the same suppliers that have you waiting? Yep - they're not based in NZ, but that's where I ordered it from. And what would you know, 20 days later it has finally arrived in NZ. Still has to get through customs though...
  12. ....Or... instead of causing yourself problems down the line from editing system files, upgrade to the latest unRAID beta.
  13. Something isn't right there. SMB and AFP is working perfectly (besides TimeMachine) on 3 individual Lion installs with the latest beta. And on 10.6, it has worked well since first implemented by unRAID. The TimeMachine issue is related to Netatalk dragging their feet on the AFP protocol. The latest version will fix a lot of these problems, once implemented in unRAID. I have SMB turned on. I'm using user shares though, not disk shares. Perhaps that's the problem.. I never access disk shares via AFP because of the invisible files it creates.
  14. Update unMenu - known issue. Restart both Lion and unRAID. I can see my server without problems, so it's your configuration or setup. Worst case scenario, do a clean install of 10.7. Usually recommended to do that when you install a new OS anyway.
  15. unRAID/Other NAS products don't support Lion with TimeMachine at this point. Will be a release at some point that fixes this.
  16. Explain the problem again please? You can't connect to unRAID?
  17. From where I'm sitting, it's more reliable than Beta 6 Re: Hosts. I'm mistaken, it's Apache VirtualHosts that isn't working.
  18. Hosts isn't working in 10.7. I suggest removing any modifications to the hosts file. Good news is that since Beta 5, you can connect to unRAID via the .local address. Eg, http://storage.local/ Also, be sure to upgrade to the latest beta, as it's using a newer version of Netatalk which is now compatible with Lion. I am running 10.7 Lion client/server without issues at home.
  19. Yeah, I've been testing 10.7 Server in a few VM's on my workhorse.. So easy..
  20. Tom - 10.7 Lion is available on the App store now. Just create another partition on your MacBook, use the Disk Utility restore to copy over your 10.6 install to the new partition. Install 10.7 over it so you can have a couple of test environments. Or, just chuck 10.6 into VirtualBox.
  21. Cheapest way for me to get hot swap bays + a nice looking case.
  22. Argh!!!! You wouldn't believe the issues I've had trying to get this damn case into NZ. I found a supplier in Australia, who had 32 in stock. I bought it and they shipped it. However, it has been 2 freakin' weeks and it still hasn't landed in NZ. It's in AUSTRALIA! Takes 4 days by boat. Are they sending it on a dingy? Pulling my hair out over this!!
  23. Hi Warlock. I'll put it on the list "To-Do". May not make it into SimpleFeatures, but could be a good plugin! Cheers
