Hi, just checking to see if the recent betas and RC versions have 'fixed' the issue where unraid does not appear in windows 10 network? I hoped it would, with various samba updates, but on RC2 now and still no luck. Yes I can browse by pasting in IP address directly, have checked to make sure unraid the local master etc. will be interested to hear if anyone else still has this issue thanks,

Hi, I have been trying to figure out the best way to setup owncloud and reading through the various posts (there are too many pages to read). a few questions. 1)do you recommend going the VM route that some have? debian in VM then install newest owncloud 2) if docker recommended, which one? how can you tell which version of owncloud is in the docker (would like newest 9.02) 3) if docker, can someone post a screenshot of their owncloud docker setup screen? showing the how they configured the various paths, volume mappings, etc. thanks,

Yes, mounting iso files in Windows 10 should work now without overriding the max protocol value. I can confirm that, at least for me it does. Had to use SMB2_02 in beta20, removed it and upgraded to beta 21, can mount VHDs and ISOs. Lets hope the samba guys didn't break anything important in that version great! that one fix is enough for me to try the beta the weekend

Odd, it shows up fine for me on 6.1.9. This often a router issue. If you are using a static IP address, in many cases,you will have to program your router so that it knows that IP address is to be associated with the name of your server. Interesting. I'll give that a shot. No issues with Windows 7 accessing unraid though (same network same router). So something about Windows 10

Not to get off topic but does openvpn docker or plugin have any advantages vs running openvpn on a router? A decently powered router such as an asus ft-ac68.

Will the "original" emby docker have the latest version of emby? Or do I need to remove that docker and install the new docker you are discussing. I did not quite follow if the "original" docker will be unsupported and should be removed Thanks

Sorry I was not all the way clear. I can use sync toy fine in Windows 10 when the destination folder is another hard drive in a Windows machine. However when I want to use an unraid filter in the destination "browse" box it is not available Are you saying sync toy will let you enter \\192.168.1.xxx\folder. Manually? Thanks

Hi, I had another post on issues accessing unraid from windows 10, and I know there are lots of other posts on this. I have never resolved the issue (tried all the registry tweaks, etc). This questions is specifically on backing up files to unraid from a windows 10 computer. From windows 7 and previous OS, I used "synctoy" and manually ran jobs to backup pictures, etc to the unraid server. Now with the issues with unraid not appearing in windows 10 I can't set up synctoy jobs (as I can't add the unraid folder!). so the question is, can anyone recommend software (besides synctoy, which won't work) which I can use to backup certain folder on a windows 10 computer to an unraid server? I assume the software will have to be able to take an IP address or something as destination folder (synctoy won't.) thanks,

Hi, I have seen quite a few posts on this, and read many more via google. I upgraded to windows 10 and at first could not access my unraid server via explorer. Using multiple fixes in the posts (adding a key in the registry, ensuring unraid set to master, adjusting windows 10 network public/private network settings) I can access the server now by manually entering "\\tower". however I can't get "tower" to appear in the network list. I have to manually type it in every time. any idea how to get it to appear in the network ? (also - yes, using the same workgroup on all computers and server). thanks,

Thanks. I do use ssd cache for copying and docker. Not worried about redundancy before mover runs as I just copy (not move) files from another PC and don't delete until later In regards to brands. Any particular to stay away from these days?

Hi, I need to order a new drive and not sure on the best options. The 3tb and even 4tb sticky threads seem a bit out of date in regards to the best (or worst) drives to order. currently my parity is 3TB and I have a few 2 or 3 TB data drives. I can either order a new data drive, or upgrade party to 4TB and move the current 3TB to data. I guess my question is - what drive would you get if you were getting a new parity ? how about a data drive? would it be the same or do you go for higher rpms for parity (7200?) and lower 5200/5900 for data? or, as I sometimes read, do you just go for the best price and it does not matter? currently on amazon/newegg for example I see a 4TB seagate NAS (ST4000VN000) for $139. The reds are 154$. You can get non NAS 4TB for cheaper, and others (HGST) for more. any steers on best choice are appreciated thanks

thanks so what is the process? do you install the unraid docker(TVHeadend or MythTV) , then go into Emby web configuration and install the Live TV plugin? I see a TVHeadend plugin on the emby plugin page, but no MythTV plugin (they have EmbyTV, serverwmc, dvblink, nextpvr, etc..)

Hi I have emby server docker installed and working great. Have been looking around for gow to get live tv working both here and on the emby forums. One suggestion seemed like you née a dlna version of hdhomerun (mine is an older model) Does anyone have emby live tv working with hdhomerun ? If so, what back end do you use? Thanks

OK the changing config folder to something different worked in regards to at least the setting is now saved. See attached screenshot(s) for plugin configuration and the folders it created. still can't access the page....tried the IP also: http://192.168.1.192:8096/mediabrowser/web/wizardstart.html thanks for all of the quick replies.

Unchecked the custom folders. pointed config folder toward /mnt/cache/apps.. odd thing is after a restart the config folder option is unchecked again and blank? the option does not seem to save(see attached screenshot). http://tower:8096/mediabrowser/web/wizardstart.html still comes up as a blank page thanks,
