docker lost track somehow of the name of the app and picked one by itself Is there a fix? As it no longer detecting version either.

For some reason my application name is now "modest_ritchie" after I downgraded unraid 6.1.9 plex is working but not quite sure what I done wrong.

Both have static ips So I have the following: 192.168.1.1 = Router 192.168.1.2 = Windows 10 Desktop 192.168.1.3 = SERVER 192.168.1.4 = TOWER oddly I just downgraded TOWER to 6.1.9 as I don't need dual parity etc and noticed all my dockers disappeared. Addded plex again but now showing as App Name modest_ritchie Still having same networking issue when I use RDP. I can access from LAN but not from WAN

Thought it would post here as this is just a general discussion about issues I'm facing with introducing a second unraid machine and the troubles I am having with downloading and accessing 2nd machine for some reason. So lets start from the beginning. See sig for Rig 1 HP N40L was my first step into the world of unraid. Single machine, decent speeds, but not very powerful plex but great for storing data. I used to download on my windows machine and then copy paste over to my unraid share. Eventually decided to get a 2nd machine and run plex, dockers etc and automate downloads. But for some reason when I try to RDP to my windows machine I cant access the 2nd machine but can access the first one. There is a difference in version but settings all look the same. Also by downloading on the faster 2nd machine the whole process of getting the data to my 1st machine is longer as I found out yesterday. Ended up having to us MC to transfer the folders over as I cant get sab to download directly to 1st machine. Any input would be great. Thinking should I run sab cp sb on machine 1 instead of machine 2. Also got openvpn-as running but seems to be very slow not any faster than the built in version in my router

Is there a way to have another unraid machine in different location as offsite backup and maintain speeds, connections using vpn are painfully slow I havent used rsync yet but dont know what the best method is to have multiple sites and fastest speed possible... sFTP comes to mind but not too sure

Dont think im quite ready for 10GbE, my 2nd machine already has dual nics built in, adding a 2nd nic to my N40L will probably cost me around £20ish My widows pc which is using an asus p5k mobo has 2nics so might try linking that too.

I am looking to beef up the network connection just for the fun of it but is it overkill? I want to utilize bonding between both machines but my N40L only has 1 nic so would need to add another, 2nd machine has bonding configured. But question really is would it be worth trying to link both machines using 2gb instead of 1gb. Machine 1 hosts all data, Machine 2 runs plex and other dockers. Try one thing first. Give a quick push of the power button and see if your server shuts down gracefully. I know that is one of the features of the Powerdown plugin but it may also exist in LT's powerdown routine. The Powerdown plugin will also write out either the syslog or diagnostic file to the Flash Drive if it is successful. Sorry so everything is actually working but when I RDP to my windows machine it doesnt allow me to connect to //tower/ but I can connect to //server/ which is 1.6.9 So not sure if this might be a vpn issue or firewall rule.

Having issues with contacting the beta machine, can no longer access web gui, pings unresponsive and putty wont connect either. However dockers still running and working. Plex still works and OpenVPN-AS but looks like going to have to do hard reset as I cant even downgrade to stable version.

I set this up last week with no issues following the instructions from this post, expect I changed from PAM to local and created new user from the web GUI: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=43317.msg451171#msg451171 The connectivity test within the app doesn't work, it always fails for me too. All sorted now, for some reason my router wasnt saving the port forward changes, did a firmware update. Changes saved. Connected straight away!

The issue im facing with running 2 builds of unRAID I know have 2 machines constantly on, when Plex runs it getting video data from another machine that appears to result in transcoding even on internal network. Hopefully a Single Build will resolve these issues and I can make use of my exiting case to its full potential. The old P5K, Q6600 may just go in a cupboard or a smaller case. Then I will just run windows 10 in a VM. I do have the option to use 19" rack mount solution but cost will quickly rise. I want to be able to run Plex (around 10 clients not all at once - direct play internal network 1gb), run win10 on VM, various dockers to automate downloads (currently downloading on windows machine then copying files over to unraid. Want to be able to rip blue ray disks (1-click solution), openvpn-as just to start with.

So I have had the http://www.coolermaster.com/case/full-tower/cosmos-1000/ running my windows since 2009 using a Asus P5K and intel Q6600. Thinking of ditching my HP Microserver and 2nd machine to create a single unraid build. Was thinking of taking everything out then starting fresh with a Supermicro mobo and possibly a Xeon CPU. I have pretty decent OCZ 800W psu. That I can keep in it, only issue with with current mobo is lack sata ports etc. My Case can actually support about 11 drives so might aswell make use of it. If I really wanted later im sure I could quite easily get a load more in there. Any suggestions would be helpful. UK Based links if any please

How do you download profile for android? I'm pretty sure I have the VPN config set correctly when I navigate to myddns:943 login with my username and pass I created but then attempt to download "Yourself (user-locked profile) but it fails.

How ridiculously easy was that! Thanks The machine with plex only has 1 SSD, no cache, no parity. I just assuming any transcoding will automatically happen, is that correct?

Look for some support and advice on my plex setup. I have got Fix Common Problem plugin installed and its telling me I need change my unassigned mounts to slave but not quite sure how. My general setup is MACHINE1 (AMD NEO cpu) has all data/videos etc no plugins and MACHINE2 (intel i3 cpu) has plex docker. Eventually I will probably migrate everything to a single machine but for now this will do the job. I have attached screenshot of what my plex docker screen looks like. Any help or tips to improve setup would be great.

All done and dusted! Can't believe how painless it was, other than the time taken to rebuild which is totally worth it! Not so sure about having a 4tb WD Green in there and the other seagate drive doesnt exactly leave me with much confidence as they were bought the same time and reading on amazon a lot of people have said failed around 2 year mark. Might have to invest in 2 more 4tbWD Reds next month, apply bay mod firmware update and make use of 6 drives. Oh and the SSD cache has worked wonders, getting 100MB/s transfers to cache compared now so very happy!

Feeling quite optimistic, replace disk 3 with a 4tb drive I had but its a green drive not red :shocked: also replaced the original 250gb cache drive that came with the N40L with a 240GB SSD. Rebuild will probably take around 7 hours so will leave it for tonight and rely on amazon prime instead of plex lol. Thanks for all the help will mark as solved if no further issues.

Appriciate the comments, looks like I will be making some changes this weekend. Would it be worth holding on to the disk im replacing or is ready for recycling?

Upgraded from 5.0.5 to 6.1.9 Seems to be working ok even tho its 32bit but atleast now I can upload diagnostics if anyone wouldn't mind having a look to highlight any other potential issues. server-diagnostics-20160519-1827.zip

I will replace the drive and possibly bin if its that bad. So it turns out the WD Red I have is a 4TB and I know remember I never got round to updating the bios on my HP N40L so will swap it with this and at the same time replace the cache with a 240gb SSD I have. I will run SMART check on the other drives and see if the same error appears on any of them.

I dont really understand the report but have noticed some odd behavior so might as well swap it out, think I have a spare 3TB WD Red still in a box. Is it a case of power down, replace disk, power up and start array for it to rebuild new disk?

Hopefully I used the right command smartctl -a -d ata /dev/sde | todos >/boot/smart.txt disk 3 is sde I have attached the smart report smart.txt

Right having done some searches it appears it was down to leaving browser open. Last checked on Thu May 19 05:00:31 2016 BST (today), finding 0 errors. ? Duration: 10 hours, 17 minutes, 3 seconds. Average speed: 108,1 MB/sec But looking at the log I can see errors with disk 3? Have attached syslog syslog.txt

Totally valid point, my bad never had any issues before. Will attach new syslog after work. I did leave the parity check to run over night so assuming it would have completed by now.
