The content in my opinion is worthless, price up the hardware. If I was to purchase it from you I would more than likely format whole lot but thats just me. I still got my old collection of MP3 from the 90s but never use it as the same audio files are now available in much higher quality on amazon, spotify etc. Even though I dont use them I cant bring myself to delete them.

Glad I came across this topic, I have 4 disks which are still ReiserFS from my old V5 config and when I upgraded to v6 I just didnt have enough space to manually copy 1 disk at a time. I got a spare 3TB drive im going to pop in my PC and copy disk at time and slowly convert all my disks to XFS.

Yep something like Thinksever they often on sale or have cashback deals. So what I did was start with a N40L and once I did everything possible to it, such as modify bios add 6 Drives and SSD cache I soon realised plex was just too slow for my needs. So instead of switching all my drives to a new machine I bought a 2nd machine and installed the dockers I needed then used "Unassigned Devices" Plugin to mount the shares. I could have just bought a big case and custom built another machine but the cost would have been too high. Eventually I might move to a single system but for now this works for me. If your selling your xcase let me know im UK Based... I just never got how SAS plates worked.

What size drives do you have? One suggestion could be to get larger drives and reduce the number from 12 to 8? Are you looking to get rid of the XCASE? Im not sure what mobo is compatible with your AMD chip but a lot of people have Supermicro or Gigabyte in their sigs so that might be a good place to start.

If your looking for a plex only machine then I would just keep an eye out for a ready made machine? Example my RIG 2 machine was a ready made machine which I got for a bargain from Amazon and moved all my dockers and plugins to that. Then for my storage requirements I use a N40L with WD Reds and Samsung Cache drive RIG 1. If your are going to build your own machine then remember plex doesnt use memory for transcoding so 8GB should be fine but the general rule of thumb is a 2000 passmark for a 1080 transcode. So check the CPU passmark score. I personally have a 4000 passmark and have at peak around 5 streams going at any one time. So looking to replace with an i7 4790. Nothing is ever overkill as long as it fits with your budget

I was going to mention something similar, so I am on various forums UK based and non UK based. I did report one spam post as I normally do to flag it up but then I noticed the sheer volume of spam and thought best not to report them all as I didnt want to flood the mods with reports. I genuinly dont remember if there was any verification link when signing up or even if site has captcha on registration page. Just an update, upgraded to lastest unraid version and turns out all my docker images were out of date. I assumed they were being updated after docker restart but think there was a bug mentioned and switching to 6.2 fixed that. Also reset the options in CP looks like it was deleting failed downloads or stalled download. I think everything is working ok now. Just need to figure out how to use categaroies so I can move Movies and TV shows automatically for CP and Sonnar to process. Thanks for the help

Can confirm the easiet way is to use unassigned devices plugin. I do the same thing with all my data on Rig 1 and then all my dockers on Rig 2 and have the mounts auto start. You can choose NFS or SMB shares. Then just map your apps accordingly. So just as an example I have something like /mnt/disk/192.168.1.3/Movies/ then in plex /Movies is mapped to /mnt/disk/192.168.1.3/Movies/ if your using SMB its the pretty much the same /mnt/disk/SERVERname/Movies/ Very quick and easy to do.

Yep, Sabnzbd is mapped to same share but /mnt/disks/SERVER_Downloads/SAB/ The wierd thing is it downloads and if I go to incomplete folder thats auto generated its there but as soon as it completes I have no idea where its going and manual folder search wont find the file either

Before it stayed in the GUI so you could keep track but when I go back to after a few hours to check the status I come back to blank list. Check the download folders and all empty? Re-installed the docker, cant find any logs. Is it possible its more of an CP issue? Can someone help with a permissions error I keep getting Cannot change permissions of /downloads/SAB/incomplete-downloads/examplefilename.rar Permission set to 777 and did run "Docker Safe New Permissions" but still keep getting the error. The only thing I have changed was moving from NFS mounts to SMB using unassigned devices plugin.

I had a similar issue and it turned out to CP logs, clear the logs and restart docker, also double check your paths are going to your disk shares.

Hey how you doing, I read your question and not sure if I'm clear on what you trying to do. Are you saying you have unraid running with 1 disk only and no parity drive? What you want to do is add another disk that would automatically back up the disk you already have, as is typical in a normal raid setup? Post your specs mate, what hardware you have, what version you are using, if you have parity drive, cache drive etc... Sounds to me you aren't using unraid the way it was intended or I have completely read your thread wrong.

@gridrunner yep recently it has getting full daily as I figured out how CP could upgrade all my old dvdrips to 720p+ so it was constantly on the go. VM also do 300Mbps package for £30 extra a month! Hi currently my cache drive is 240GB but with all the automated downloads and moving of files it quickly gets full. It has a schedule to move around 3am but was wondering if there was way to create a cron job I'm assuming to start mover when disk reaches 70%?

The settings are correct in CP so assumed it was a bug, unless theres another setting for the rename / move option iv missed 0644 ( and 0755 ) won't allow you to write (or delete the files) unless you outright own the files. Change it to 0666 or 0777 Changes made and CP restarted, hopefully that will fix it but those were the default values
