  1. Been having same issue I think CP sets permission to 6777 instead of 0777 so every so often I have to do the same. Very annoying.
  2. I think thats what I will be doing! Will look on ebay as still quite pricey brand new and yes been quite lucky in the area I live we have always had good cable broadband.
  3. I have no need for ECC ram as all my data is actually on another machine and my appdata is backed up weekly. I just want my family to have a better plex experience. I have had a few moments where my brother has called and said the movie has stopped half way or keeps buffering over WAN. My current CPU has avg. passmark of 4112 so thats should be enough for 1x 1080p 1x 720p transcode? Looking at plexpy I have had a max of 5 simultaneous streams. Mainly TV shows by the looks of it. Something around the 8000 passmark would be probably be more than enough for what I need.
  4. I have a small i3 Machine which I use for all my dockers and mainly plex and looking to possibly upgrade the Intel i3-4130T to a Xeon CPU. The motherboard is Gigabyte GA-H97N-WIFI and the case will probably only support a stock fan. Any suggestions on a CPU with significant better passmarks?
  5. So this is still on going for me but I think I have a better work flow now. Managed to CP to rename and move a bunch of completed movies but it can only manage one location at a time and for some reason it keeps adding .ignore to a bunch of movies and doesnt bother to rename them for some strange reason even though they are not duplicates. I will slowly get there! I disabled deluge. Just didnt get on with it at this stage so using tranmission for now and thankfully Sonnar is working well but still have a load of rouge duplicates. I will probably have to do some manual moving and renaming. Ultimate Goal is to get all movies in a single folder "Movies" and shows under "TV/TV Show Name" at the moment I got dvdrips which I am trying to replace in "Videos/Movies" then I have "Videos/HD" "Videos/3D" <<< Might delete all my 3d films a waste of space! I am sure I will get there eventually but need something a bit more powerful or better logic to detect duplicates and keep the better quality movies and only remove the SD versions if the HD copy is downloaded.
  6. I think unRAID is totally for you, from what you saying all you want is to run a plex server, CP and some IP CAM software? All this can be achieved by using dockers. You could run a win10 VM for the IP CAM software dont think theres any need to run windows server. Also gaming should be an issue with that graphics card. If you look on youtube theres a video of multiple gamers using a single unraid box.
  7. These were the instruction I used when I moved from 5.0.5 to 6.1.9. Cant remember how I found it, might have been google search.
  8. Hang on a sec, I actually had the same thing once not so long ago where I left my browser open and it showed a slower speed, but soon as I closed it and just left it carried on as normal and finished around 10 hour mark. I would suggest running parity and leave it overnight dont bother keep going back and checking and make sure the browser is closed. If after say 12 hours you check and have something like this Last checked on Sun 03 Jul 2016 12:49:28 AM BST (four days ago), finding 0 errors. Duration: 10 hours, 24 minutes, 26 seconds. Average speed: 106.8 MB/s I dont think you have anything to worry about. Failing that I would google gen8 bios settings and make sure everything is set right. ***update*** Just found my old thread https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=49175.msg471822#msg471822 and believe it was a combination of both, leaving browser open and failing disk. Hope this helps.
  9. I have a HP N40L Microserver and my 4TB WD RED parity check normally completes within 10 hours and at around ~110MB/s Transfrer speeds were around ~60MB/s direct to disk but with SSD cache I get ~110MB/s

  11. Are we talking folders within shares or just empty shares? Might be a permissions problem? Could try chmod 755 -r /mnt/user0/foldername/test as example. Replace your path run command and then delete folder or file
  12. I have started to do it to all new drives or replacements drives, takes a bit of time but as one member said if you value your data pre-clear your drives.
  13. Thanks for prompt reply. I think you are right. Parity check completed fine and within record time Last checked on Sun 03 Jul 2016 12:49:28 AM BST (yesterday), finding 0 errors. Duration: 10 hours, 24 minutes, 26 seconds. Average speed: 106.8 MB/s Glad all my upgrades have gone well so far. Only had to replace one drive and now I have full speed enabled on all drives plus 2Gbe pipe between the 2 unraid machines its starting to feeling like a much more solid system. So thanks to everyone who have taken time out to reply
  14. Common Problems plugin showed disk1 has errors So did smartctl -a -d ata /dev/sdc | todos >/boot/smart.txt and attached the file, I am hoping it doesnt need replacing does someone mind having a look. Currently running parity check dont know if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance smart.txt
  15. Hi Guys asking in lounge because its not about a single docker or plugin. I have setup CP, SAB, Sonnar, Transmission and now Deluge but I simply cant keep track, movies are coming through to transmission mostly, dont know whats been completed and renamed. Seem to be having a loads of dupicates and just driving me bonkers right now. Probably downloaded well over 1.5TB including TV shows. Sonnar is sorting my TV Shows out but its downloading individuals episodes and bulk season packs too. I have load of movies that have .part on the end dont know whether to delete or wait. Some have been renamed and moved from completed to download/Movies Initial Plan was to update my old dvdrip rips to best available quality, I thought it would delete the old copies and replace with new but ended up with both. Also whenever I try to create category within CP or SAB it seems to screw things up. I know this post is all over the place and no real structure but if someone doesnt mind helping me with some good pointers I would really appriciate it. Or maybe another tool that will organise what I have currently. Then work on automation later. Thanks as always!
  16. Why? Your best bet is to use SSD cache, unless you have no sata or estata ports available? I thought it wasnt advised due the number of read and writes would pretty much kill it but I may be wrong.
  17. These are my settings, all my ports work at full speed: Chipset Menu > Southbridge Configuration > SB SATA Configuration OnChip SATA Channel [Enabled] OnChip IDE Type [iDE] SATA IDE Combined Mode [Disabled] SATA EPS on all PORT [Enabled] SATA Power on all PORT [Enabled] Thanks for the reply will be applying these settings tonight after work.
  18. Thank you for confirming, I thought that was the case but just wanted to double check. Maybe the wording could be a little bit more clearer? Finally got 6 working drives is my N40L now just need to make sure full speed is available on all ports. Support on here is brilliant IMHO. Next on the list is to add 3rd unRAID system at another location!
  19. Finally! 97 hours later all cleared! However now I get the following: As its a new disk cannot I not just format it? Also do I need look at the file system as my old disks are "resierfs" SSD cache is "btrfs" and assuming the new disk will be "xfs" according to the thread I read about mr resierfs killing his wife
  20. Have you configured your shares to use ssd cache? I would expect to see above 30MB/s with an SSD cache without it I think I was only getting around 45MB/s not sure if enabling jumbo frame rates on your router may help. There is a tips and tweaks page on wiki but not sure if it applies to version 6
  21. If you're using the current preclear beta plugin you can start the array, you can't with the script or old plugin. BTW, I posted the correct bios settings on your other thread. Thank you, didnt mean to create multiple threads but wasnt sure if it was something else that may have been causing the issue. Im not using beta pre-clear so looks like I will probably end up start array some time tomorrow with a bit of luck
  22. Please post more detail about your current setup, what version of unraid, what disk drives, are you using SSD for cache, do you have gigabit ethernet etc... I noticed a massive jump as soon as I introduced SSD cache drive.
  23. Your telling me, the only thing I can think is that as I im using the optical drive in my N40L and esata port for the cache drive with modded bios I havent set the settings right. But it still shouldnt be that slow? Assuming I cant start array until this has been completed
  24. The agony WDC_WD40EFRX-68WT0N0_WD-WCC4E1DNXP34 Post-Read. 0% @ 53 MB/s (68:16:36)
  25. How long does standard pre clearing take? Its almost done and on 95% but has taken 65 hours, its connected to the ODD Sata port on my N40L and showing writing zeros at 19MB/s Is it because my BIOS settings are wrong?
