^^ How much RAM do you have, and are you running more than 1 preclear at the same time?

The 5X3 Cage review - Norco, SuperMicro, iStarUSA and Icy Dock
^^ You ordered the wrong iStar cage The one I have has the aluminum handle, and the unlock lever is strongly spring loaded, so it won't pop open on accident. Also, there are air holes behind the handle. The fans were pretty loud for me though, so I removed them.

Where to shop for what?
I bought my LG 42" 1080p LCD from Fry's.com for $500 shipped in March of last year. Great deal.

Where to shop for what?
We have two TigerDirect stores about 30-45mins from me here, but everyhting there is hit or miss. There's no telling what they'll actually have in the store at any given time. We're planning on moving to Denver this summer, and they have a Microcenter. I wish they'd open a Fry's, but for some reason they refuse to open a location in Denver.

The 5X3 Cage review - Norco, SuperMicro, iStarUSA and Icy Dock
Thanks for this review I have the colored iStarUSA cages, and it's impossible to accidentally unlock a drive unless you do so intentionally. My fans were LOUD so I removed them from all 3 cages. Temps are till pretty low (30C idle and 34C during preclear). I'm only using two low speed 120mm fans, but I may add a faster fan or move the entire setup into my Antec 900 for better airflow.

Yes, always better safe than sorry.

The Power Supply Thread
Yes, I've been only looking at single rail PSU's. So for a potentially 15-drive server and all green drives I'd need 30A for the drives alone (unless I'm using WD Green drives) plus another few amps for overhead. How many amps do the other devices require?

The Power Supply Thread
I think it should be noted that some Green drives draw less than 2A on spinup. These values are according to Manufacturer Data Sheets. These are all 2TB drives. WD20EADS - 1.75A WD20EARS - 1.55A (can be lowered with WD utility) HD204UI - 2A 5K3000 - 2A I had a question: for the 12v Amp value, is that used by us for drives only, or are we going to have to add some overhead for the motherboard and other devices when sizing a PSU?

The Enclosure Thread
At one time I had a temp variable fan that varied speed based on temps it saw when I stuck the probe on the device. It worked just OK. Probably not worth the extra money though.

The Enclosure Thread
Mine hang out around 20C for Green drives and 29C for older, 7200rpm drives. Ambient is 70F.
