  1. Seriously? I have one of those boards. Is the process the same or do I need to modify anything? That's an old board. Can it run UEFI? Wow coincidence. You should have no problem then. No uefi. Just flash in dos. I use the bottom pci-e slot. I've never specifically flashed a Perc 310 but I imagine it should be the same. It should definitely work for you. I've flashed like 5 LSI 9220-8i controllers so far with this motherboard. Thank you. I'll try tonight and let you know.

  3. I have been trying to flash the H310 and keep getting stuck on the same step over and over. I am using the "Toolset_PercH310 to LSIMegaraid.zip" and think that am following the instructions pretty closely. The step where the Dell IT firmware is flashed keeps giving me the same error "Failed to initialize PAL. Exiting program". I have tried to perform the same steps on a Supermicro C2SEE board as well as Asus H87M-E. I tried booting into UEFI, as some have suggested, to no avail. Any help would be fantastic! Thank you, Lev ADAPTERS.TXT
  4. I am sure that someone has already asked this question, and trying to dig through the posts of 63 pages... I have Supermicro SASLP cards that I want to swap for Dell h310 cards. Could you please point to where is the latest/best/easiest post for flashing the PERC h310 to work with unRAID? Thank you, Lev
  5. Yes No, but you'll trust the disk more. (about 1 in 5 fail in the first hours of operation... do you feel lucky?) If the drive is less than 2.2TB, and NOT a WD-EARS drive with a jumper added, use -A only if an older <=2TB WD-EARS drive with the jumper added should you use "-a" Joe L. Excellent! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very much. Lev
  6. Yes, I may add the old parity in as a data disk, down the road. However, should I preclear the new drive prior to adding it in as a new parity? Will that make the parity rebuild faster? In the future, when preclearing new drives, should I stick with the "old" MBR format, or go the advanced route? Lev
  7. I would like to add a new 4TB Hitachi drive to my system as a parity drive. My current parity is a 3TB WD red. I think that it would be quicker if I precleared the drive first. My system has been running stable for a few years and, when I upgraded to version 5.0 I kept the default partition format as MBR: unalighed. How should I proceed with the new drive? Should I preclear it as an ADVANCED FORMAT drive (-A) or leave all the same, (-a)? I am sorry if I am asking a question that has been already asked, but I cannot find the answer. Thank you, Lev
