  1. I wish I could afford an build like this...... The mobo and xeon together costs like 900USD here (around 8000NOK) and then it is the rest needed.... According to one of the 7 in 1 videos from Linus (not sure if he mentions it in the build video or the dissemble video) he says that with Nvidia GPU it frees the card correct then shutting down the VM using it, with AMD the whole UnRaid computer needs to be rebooted to free the GPU.
  2. If I understand you correct you want to have an VPN to you're home, but dont want to access all of the LAN over it?
  3. UBCD has a lot of tools from different manufactures to test an drive.
  4. Im not able to access webgui even if I have set the local network to the right subnet, in my case 192.168.0.0/24
  5. Thank you for the info Too sad cards like this only have 2SATA ports, but but. But, if this card uses PCI-E 1.0 1X port, does not that mean that it can't run both ports at 600MB/sec but is capped at max 250MB for both ports? Edit: My bad, sees now it is 1X PCIE 3.0 card but is backwards compatible with 1.0
  6. gundamguy: Thank you Got it now. Im looking for getting an samsung ssd for my server sometime in the future, but not sure if I should go for the evo or save up for an pro drive.
  7. The right option is not there, turnip. Maybe LT staff really have taken from The Blizzard book, SoonTM.
  8. I have some questions about cache. As far as I understand when you write new data, it gets written to the cache first and then dumped to the array later and then deleted from the cache. But does data you access often gets copied back to the cache (so it works as read cache for data that earlier has been moved to array) or does you need to make shares that uses cache only to keep data on the cache and remember to take backup of this data?
  9. This is an nice tool to use to check how much power you need: http://www.coolermaster.com/power-supply-calculator/
  10. ops, forgot to mention that. Its an older system I have used for a lot of things, the cpu is an i3-530, so first gen i-core, so pretty old. Have never changed the paste on it, mabe time to check and redo that. Power is an older cooler master 600W. The same system used to run PFsense none stop for over a year without any problems, but that may not use as much cpu ether.
  11. All fans are working. Im using an Node 804 case, has not modified the fans so the one in the cpu part of the case blows out and the other on the back of the motherboard, where the harddrives are blows in, onto the disks. I ran memtest for 2-3hours earlier and an hdd check for 6hours without any crashes.
  12. Nope, it was stabel for some time, but after I put in another hdd it crashes after some time when trying to clean the drive. Got some logs this time. gumi-server-diagnostics-20160221-2238.zip
  13. How? You mention two NIC's, but is this really a requirement or just two virtual NIC's and different IP addresses? If you set up bridged networking in unRAID which allows for virtual NICs, then each VM appears directly on the LAN and can get its own IP address (sharing the one physical NIC used by unRAID). If you really need two physical NIC's, then your hardware has to support the VT-d virtualisation feature so that you can pass the physical NIC through to the VMs. Dang.....but thanks for the info I guess I just will spare my 2Intel NICs for then I will change out the MB of the computer I use now that does not support VT-d
  14. Then I connects and tries to start clashplan desktop client, nothing happens.
  15. Seems like I found out of it, checked a lot of settings and for some reason the CPU was under clocked. rested it back to normal settings and now it has been stable for 2 days
  16. Not sure if this is already suggested, but could not find it. I would like to see it possible in webgui to manage more than just the first Nic Unraid sees. Like making separate bridges to separate NICs so example VMs can use dedicated NICs
  17. If it is an Intel CPU, its also possible to use Intel ARK website to get all the technical data of an CPU
  18. Hello Im totally new here and I came across UnRaid from an LTT video and thought I should try it out on my old old Intel i3 "server" All seems to work, but the problems I have is that the array shuts down, server gets unresponsive at random. So far I have just 1HDD, an older WDgreen 2TB. Gets warning that the disk is too hot, 45C and I wonder if this can be the reason. The server also has 2Intel NICs, one PCI-E and one PCI that seems to not been detected, so using the integrated nic. Edit: Heard someone say that the array gets auto-off if the disks gets too hot, but can't find it in the documentation.
