  1. Just a thank you post for ich777, Got the new GPU in and all is as it was! thank you
  2. 1060 Super specifically has Turing NVENC the non super 1060 doesn't. 1660s are Turing far as I am aware Atleast the one I have coming is
  3. If you want best of near everything bare minimum a 1060 SUPER(specifically) or 1660 would be better
  4. Well just an update I finally pulled that card and put in my other pc to test it, "worked" like you said until driver install and then this (see attachment) what a coincidence though it dies during my drive replacements etc.
  5. 4g decoding what heading is this typically under?
  6. Nope no riser cables etc. I do have a seperate pc if I put this gpu in that pc and gpu works what would that mean for unraid? In respects to the BIOS reset. Do I pose any risk to my unraid setup in any fashion by doing this? If so what precautions should I take/make?
  7. I don't even know what vfio means or is so I suspect no. I'm familiar with bios but define what you mean by reset. Also I do find it strange that so many other people in the old thread started having same issue as me?
  8. Plugin removed no more errors in log, editing my one vm and simply switching from vnc to my 1070 and starting produced this.
  9. Booting uefi mode atm. I'll try the plugin removal now
  10. so I did the reseat and power reseat and upon rebooting into the system and eagerly opening the nvidia driver plugin I screamed with joy! my card was detected as it was before! I went to go resetup my plex docker as it once was. Completed that and went to test the transcoding and run the nvidia-smi watch command and BOOM "no devices were found". Check the plugin page again, gpu disappeared. Rebooted again for fun , no devices were found. Just as a side note my motherboard bios is up to date checked that as well and I also had a DP cable plugged into the gpu as i did read that could cause issues. I checked system log and I did get a bunch of errors that ive never seen before , hopefully you understand it? Thanks for everything I did find this post online which seems to reference the exact issue but this is all chinese to me and they seem to reference that a much earlier driver iteration than the plugin provides "fixes" it https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/linux-driver-410-73-gtx-980-nvrm-rminitadapter-failed/67231/25 Dec 17 02:58:02 Godzilla kernel: resource sanity check: requesting [mem 0x000c0000-0x000fffff], which spans more than PCI Bus 0000:00 [mem 0x000c0000-0x000dffff window] Dec 17 02:58:02 Godzilla kernel: caller _nv000709rm+0x1af/0x200 [nvidia] mapping multiple BARs Dec 17 02:58:02 Godzilla kernel: NVRM: GPU 0000:08:00.0: RmInitAdapter failed! 11. God I sure hope so, just seeing it on and lights and fan and seeing it detected didn't make me think that was even a possibility but I'm sure stranger things are possible
  12. Only thing I've done is add and remove drives and do a new config for that. I'll definitely check power when I get home then
  13. I'm not home atm but I did a quick remote login and edited the one vm I do have and I am able to select the Nvidia card in that menu. Have not reseated etc yet. Seeing as I can see it in the vm I shouldn't have to?
  14. I have subsequently upgraded my unraid to 6.9.0rc1 and grabbed the new proper Nvidia plugin and did all that and my issue remains the same. No devices found on Nvidia plugin page but lspci command lists my card. At a loss as to what I should do or try next
  15. I did see that but why would that randomly effect my existing setup? Wouldn't that effect builds going forward etc that was my understanding when I was reading it?
  16. Sorry guys if this is the wrong area but unsure of exactly where to plant this. I am and have been using unraid 6.8.3, I have a Nvidia 1070 on this system I use for transcoding. I recently needed to do some reboots etc to add some new drives and seemingly during these reboots I've lost access to my Nvidia gpu. Checking the Nvidia plugin shows no devices found. If I run lspci in terminal I see my 1070 listed. The gpu is on in my system, lights on, fans spinning. No vms running so I'm unsure of the path I should take to try and figure this out. I never changed anything with this and has been working no problem until I've done my new drives. Also all the sudden my plex is randomly crashing and I see nothing in docker logs at all and docker never stops but I have to costantly be rebooting the plex docker to get it back online if anyone has any ideas there? Plex version - Version 1.21.1.3795 Thanks for your time godzilla-diagnostics-20201215-1459.zip

  18. Same here man, I have a ryzen 1950x so I'm Quite sure I have enough cpu power. All My Dockers run off their own specific unassigned ssd. All my Downloads go to their own specific ssd so I should have zero to little io wait for any disk related things
  19. I have same issue with mover, makes plex unusable. I have two unassigned disks. 1 unassigned disks runs. My docker apps and dockapps only. The other unassigned disk is where my downloads from nzbget download to and where they get unpacked. I also run the Nvidia version of unraid with a gtx 1070 doing my hw transcodes and transcode folder mapped to ram
  20. Hey guys unsure if this is the right spot for this but I'm sure someone will give it the boot if it isn't so my apologies. I am trying to run some open source software which relies on redhats Openshift to run I am a layman and unsure if this is something that could be run via a docker? If it is is there anyone who is a master at this stuff that could assist in helping me install it on unraid as such? Thanks for your time https://docs.openshift.com/container-platform/3.6/install_config/install/host_preparation.html
  21. I added that line in the place you indicated. Rebooted. I noticed and I don't know if this was also the reason before or not but the image I pasted above with my log I still see it in my log when I have the watch Nvidia-smi running in terminal.
