  1. Google hasn't come up with anything.. I"m using a ASRock Z270 Gaming K6 with a I7-7700 processor. The memory is G.SKILL Ripjaw VSeries 2 x 8GB DDR4 2666. Some memory I grabbed from work show the same symptoms. I'll try to grab a beefier power supply from work.. But I doubt that since slowing the ram and processor didn't help. I'm really leaning toward RMAing the CPU.... I wish I could test the CPU in another board!! Or Grab another CPU to test in this MB! Maybe work has one..
  2. And it's a lower address range. And it always shows CPU 1 or 2. Above 10M it seems to run fine. It's also repeatable on all slots
  3. I've narrowed it down to the block test failing. If I just run that test it fails pretty quickly. If I run the test single core it seems to run ok. Multi core fails quickly. over clocked fails, stock fails, underclocked fails. CPU underclocked fails too. 2nd set of DIMMS from work fails too. This is the 2nd MB since the first showed the same errors and had bent pins. Could it be the CPU??
  4. I just got a new MB/CPU/Memory. I'm having issues running memtest for a long period of time. I eventually get errors. I just updated the BIOS of the M/B and I"m re-running. I'm running memtest 5.01. I can boot the win7 install disk.. I can boot to the unraid gui... Should I be able to run memtest overnight without errors? Jim
  5. Does anyone know off the top of their head.. Is the 9201-8i a x8 card? or is it a x4 card? (I know it has 8 disk ports.. I'm talking about PCIe- lanes..) Update: It looks like like it's a x8 chip.. I had to go to broadcom's website to find it! :-)
  6. I'd have to look and see what card I have. But I've been running fine with it for years now. So I doubt there are any compatibility issues unless there is when plugging into my new MB. I'm currently looking at a SAS9201-8i 6GB PCIe Express 2.0 I found one on e-bay for $44.... so I might just buy it.
  7. I'm going to upgrade my whole unraid system.. Right now I have some supermicro 8 port add in card that I believe is pci-e 1.0 and sata 3Gb/s Is it worth upgrading to a pci-e 2.0 card that is Sata 6Gb/s? I'm going to have a NVMe 250GB disk as a cache and use some of the onboard 6GB/s (6 of them, I believe) for parity and the other big disks and use the other card for the smaller (older) disks. So it is worth upgrading if I have such a fast cache drive? I'm looking at a SAS9201-8i on e-bay for $44.. I assume my cables would still work? It's mainly used for media backup but the new server will host my home DVR as well Thanks, Jim
  8. Oh hey! There it is... "Enable Bonding" Maybe I should have looked first there! lol
  9. Yeah. My switch supports link aggregation. So is the link aggregation automatic in Unraid? Or is it something I have to set?
  10. I'm going to upgrade my Unraid setup and I was wondering if Teaming/bonding is now supported? Last time I checked (several years ago) it wasn't. Is it worth getting a MB with dual 1G onboard nics? (My switch supports this, I believe)
  11. Dumb question.. How do you guy get your passmark rating? Is there a plugin for that? Or an unraid installable app?
  12. Awesome! Is there another post that's just about the sage docker? I can't seem to create the sage docker and I have questions... This probably isn't the correct subforum! :-D
  13. And then yours as well since I have the cable card tuners! right?
  14. There are 3 sageTV apps. yours, and Java8 and 7.. Which one do I want?
  15. Fuzzy, Dumb question.. With the sage docker template.. How do you get to the GUI? Right now I have a Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU @ 2.4 GHz with 6G of ram running Unraid so I want to beef that up before I try a docker.. I was hoping to combine the sage server and the unraid server and it looks like I'll be able to! :-) You're giving me hope that this will all work great! Jim
  16. That's good to know. I could have 6 stream recording at one time. I'm glad you are here that I can, hopefully, pick your brain! :-)
  17. Fuzzy!! Is this the same fuzzy from the sage forums? Now is this sage app the same as the linux build of sage? I was planning on going linux (as the guide data is going away and I needed to upgrade anyway..) I need to educate myself the difference between a docker and a VM. I haven't looked into any of that yet. But I assumed I would need a Linux VM for sage.. But if a docker will work, then great. Will I be able to just copy over my wiz.bin and properties file and it will magically work?
  18. Thanks for the info... My tuners are all network based.. So do I then need a dual-multi core cpu system?? Or a singe 6 core would handle Unraid and my Sage needs?
  19. I have no Idea what my future plans are. Probably just the Sage TV VM. I don't want to starve Sage while it trying to record 6 shows at once while Unraid is doing a parity check! I have 9 + parity + 2 cache drives. I don't need any specific MB features except maybe dual Gig Ethernet that can be teamed (does unraid support that yet?) This will run mostly headless.
  20. I'm looking to upgrade my unraid box in the near future. I currently have a a core2 duo @2.4G with 6G memory. I also have a win 7 PC that I use for running SageTV. I want to combine the 2 and run Sage in a docker/VM (haven't looked into any of that yet). I'm looking to spend about $1000-$1200 for a new MB, CPU and Memory. I believe my Power supply and case are fine. I'd like to be a little power conscious.. Might I need a dual CPU system with some supermicro MB? Intel or AMD RYZEN? I used to be well versed in the latest CPUs but now I'm way behind! So I would appreciate any recommendations. I know some of you guys just love to spec systems out! :-) Thanks in advance! Jim
  21. I also have issues with latency and such when the parity check is going on. I'm curious how folks that use dockers and such are effected by the parity check? Is my machine just that under powered? I've wanted this feature for a while too.. Jim Edit: Oh wait I was the OP! lol
  22. Ok.. What did I miss? I haven't been following too closely.. Did limetech do something in an update that changes how we add a drive? Jim
