  1. Is there a way to just backup the flash drive? The appdata is (supposedly) getting backed up by crash plan. But The flash drive can no longer via crash plan. So I'd like to use this to just back up the flash drive (then crash plan will backup the backup). I don't really want to stop all the dockers every time I want to back up the flash drive?
  2. Possibly a dumb question.... But Am I able to backup the contents of the flash drive through this docker? When I go into the flash folder under root in the manage files part.. Nothing comes up. My guess is this changed sometime ago and my flash drive is not really backing up. And I don't see it under the storage tab... Thanks, Jim
  3. Yeah.. The Docker safe one only allows you to exclude. I only want to run it on specific shares so I'll use the old one until the FCP report is clean! 🙂 Thanks again to the great community for all the help
  4. I didn't see the other one.. I'll have to look when the current one finishes. I'm just running it on specific shares that got flagged. So I should be safe? Thanks, Jim
  5. Darn... The answer was in once search below where this came up! The fix is in a separate section under tools/ Docker Safe New Perms
  6. I'm trying to empty a drive using unbalance and it does warn me about file permissions.. I ran the extended test in FCP and I get a TON of these The following files / folders may not be accessible to the users allowed via each Share's SMB settings. This is often caused by wrong permissions being used on new downloads / copies by CouchPotato, Sonarr, and the like: /mnt/user/Backup nobody/users (99/100) 0770 /mnt/user/Backup/acer_aspire nobody/users (99/100) 0770 /mnt/user/Backup/acer_aspire/post_factory.tib nobody/users (99/100) 0660 /mnt/user/Backup/acer_aspire/pre_install_image.tib nobody/users (99/100) 0660 /mnt/user/Backup/acer_aspire/Pre_office2.tib nobody/users (99/100) 0660 /mnt/user/Backup/acer_aspire/Pre_office.tib nobody/users (99/100) 0660 /mnt/user/Backup/Browser_bookmarks nobody/users (99/100) 0770 Wasn't there an "FIX" button for this? What does it want me to change the permissions to?
  7. Yeah... The cloudberry guys said that it wasn't available too.. What I need is a way to total random directories. I can do it the hard way... But I was hoping for something easier...
  8. Hello.. Coming over from crashplan to test out.. This is a gui question.. Since I'll have to pay per GB... Is there a way to see how many GB there are selected in the backup before it actually starts backing up? I'm trying to gauge how much it will cost me.. I did a test backup and it only told me the size after I started the backup... Thanks, Jim
  9. Well the soft-linked files may work. I just tried to validate an Acronis backup set using soft links. Acronis validated the backup just fine. We'll see if it will add to the incremental backup... I will have to keep up with it as every time it updates, the update file will have to be renamed and then linked back if I want to be completely protected.. What a pain... Maybe I will move to backblaze... I'll have to see what I really *need* to be backed up...
  10. Man this is a real bummer... I can rename the extension and it seems like CP will back it up... So this will work for backups for computers that don't exist anymore. (Why do I need them??? stupid hoarder of backups! :-) ) But for active backups, I'll have to do something more creative... I'll have to try softlinked tib files to renamed extension files for active backups...
  11. Crap.. I may have to switch to something else. I'm only backing up 210GB worth of data. One of the past updates must have canned all my Acronis backup files. I remember they said they were going to exclude some backup files and VM's but last time I checked it was still there. Now it's not. I really want to keep my acronis files (all my PC backups) protected in the cloud. If I can't do that with crashplan, then I'm screwed. Is there anyway around this? Jim
  12. Not sure if this is the right thread... But I figured this would get the most traction... Since my promotional period for crash plan ended, I'm now paying about $10/mo. This is like about 4x what the promotional price was. Is everyone still using crashplan? Is there something better? Cheaper? with unlimited storage? Oh and kudos to folks that maintain this great docker! :-)
  13. Is there anyway to edit/update the Historical Device notes?
  14. Thanks!! Seems to have worked.. I'll see later if it is all really there. It looks like it's synchronizing block info now. Jim
  15. So I have to migrate by the end of the month. (Yeah I've been procrastinating...) Are the instructions in the very first post still valid? My crashplan docker says there is an update available. I think I was holding off because I didn't know it would have done. Do I update before I move pro docker?
  16. Not the best way... but could you move it all to the cache disk and then let the mover "rebalance" it with the share set to the correct setting (I forget which one it is..)?
  17. I have a new disk coming online soon. I'll probably have to move more file around. I'll check the permissions before I run it next time. Thanks for the help guys, Jim
  18. I don't recall if I had any permission issues. I think I might have. And I just installed unbalance several days ago! I didn't think to check for an update so soon! :-)
  19. Here is the relevant stuff from the log file.. I: 2017/07/10 20:54:50 core.go:596: _calc:End:srcDisk(/mnt/disk4) I: 2017/07/10 20:55:06 core.go:782: Running transfer operation ... What error? hmm...
  20. Great tool! I tried to do a move yesterday from one data disk to another and it seemed to work (a part from seeming very slow...) However when I looked today, it never deleted the source files. They all got copied, but never deleted... I basically used all the stock settings.. Jim
  21. I ran the latest version of Memtest86 (from passmark) in uefi mode multi core.. With the memory OC to 2666 and it ran overnight with no errors. So I don't trust the stock memtest86+ 5.01 in parallel CPU mode... All my frustration was for nothing! :-( Now I can transfer the hardware tonight! Jim
  22. The more and more I read... It seems like parallel CPU testing is not reliable. I don't know which version of memtest86+ equated to which version of memtest.. but as of V4.3 of memtest they made the default multi-cpu test to be round robin Look here So now I start again in round robin mode or at least change the memory range to start above 10M...
  23. Ha! I think it might be an issue with memtest!!! I've tried memtest on two different machines at work and they both give similar errors! not as frequently.. but they do give errors. My work machines are rock stable. The standalone memtest (not memtest+) seems to run fine with 4.7.something.. But it only seems to exercise 4 cores (out of 8 ) I can't get the uefi capable V7 something to run on my newer dell machine at work with more than 1 core. Some UEFI Bios limitation. Oh well.. Maybe my new machine at home will be able to run the V7 multi core version. If anyone is bored and wants to try and duplicate my test.. Try running memtest with an upper limit of 10M and just run test 7 (block move) in parallel CPU mode. Jim
  24. I'm also going to try the latest version of memtest. A much earlier version had problems with the block test. And some other random folks had issues as well with 5.01 Is there a windows stress test I could run? (not that I want to take the time to install windows...) Jim
  25. Google hasn't come up with anything.. I"m using a ASRock Z270 Gaming K6 with a I7-7700 processor. The memory is G.SKILL Ripjaw VSeries 2 x 8GB DDR4 2666. Some memory I grabbed from work show the same symptoms. I'll try to grab a beefier power supply from work.. But I doubt that since slowing the ram and processor didn't help. I'm really leaning toward RMAing the CPU.... I wish I could test the CPU in another board!! Or Grab another CPU to test in this MB! Maybe work has one..
