[Support] binhex - Emby
Is this still being updated? I'm having an issue with Emby and Roku not playing certain files with captions. If I turn the captions off and then play it plays fine. But if I start with captions it get to 33% and never loads. This used to work fine. Files that used to play fine with captions don't now! 😡. From some other threads on the emby forum it's something with ffmpeg. I'd really like to be able to see my captions again! My version is Version 4.7.14.0 and it looks like there is a "Emby Server 4.8.1.0 is Available" I'm wondering if the latest version will fix my issue... https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/114254-33-in-loading-pause/ https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/124029-some-media-hangs-at-33-then-blank-screen/page/2/

VIDEO GUIDE - How to setup Guacamole as a clientless remote gateway
I have guac setup and it was working with one of my unraid VMs. But now I can't connect? I can connect to a real pc with guac.. But not the VM.. I can RDP into the VM just fine. Where are the logs located so I can see if there is an error connecting.. Jim

Disks don't spin down when VM is active.
I thought it was... I guess I changed it when I add more VM's... Don't want to fill up cache drive!

Disks don't spin down when VM is active.
Yeah I do... It looks like I need to move my image file to the cache drive.

Disks don't spin down when VM is active.
When I turn on a VM, all my disks spin up and stay spun up. Is this a known thing? The image file is on one disk that I would expect to stay spun up.. But the others should spin down? Thanks, Jim

Best way to remotely access a VM?
I did end up setting up Guac. I like that you can do 2FA. That makes me feel a little more secure.

Libvirt Service failed to start
I'm getting this message any time I stop and start the VM manager. With a reboot It starts fine. But if I disable VM's and then enable VM's, libvirt doesn't start and there is nothing in the /var/log/libvirt/libvirtd.log file. Where can I look to debug this? This all started when I started playing with "Virtual Machine Wake On Lan" I'm trying (unsuccessfully) to start a VM with WOL. Now I have no idea if this is connected. I don't remember the last time I had to disable/enable the VM's And I would like to get the WOL for VM's working.. But that's a separate thread! lol Jim

Wake on Lan for Virtual Machines for 6.1+
I, also, am having trouble getting guac to start a VM with WOL. I'm following @SpaceInvaderOne's guide on youtube and my VM won't start.

Best way to remotely access a VM?
I knew I vaguely remembered something! Thanks for pointing this out! I will check it out! I may have even watched it before! lol Jim

Best way to remotely access a VM?
I'm trying to figure out how to access some of my dockers and webpages at home from work. I'm currently using a openVPN client on my work machine and that's fine. But soon I'll have to have a new machine which won't allow any VPN software installed. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to access my home network from a webpage. So I was thinking some some sort of secure remote access to a VM from a webpage. did @SpaceInvaderOne ever do a video on that? He has so many great videos its hard to search! lol (and thanks for all those!) I'm sure there is something out there.. Like splashtop or remotePC? Thanks, Jim

Anyone getting this? - Cache Disk overheated
Well I just, successfully updated the firmware on both drives. Hopefully I won't see any issues with the overtemp any more. I was able to update using the ISO image burned to a flash drive. I got the image from here. It warned about possibly erasing all data but it did not do that for me. My data was intact, thank god! So now we'll see if get those overtemps again! Jim

WD Blue Vs WD Red Plus....
Thanks! I ended up getting a 10T Red plus. It was cheaper than the 8T! go figure! I'll use that to replace my 1st parity drive which is 8T. So now both drives parity drives will be 10T. Now I just have to remember how to do that after I replace my 4T that has some read errors.

Anyone getting this? - Cache Disk overheated
For my own benefit and I don't have to find it again. Here is a link on how to update the FW https://blog.quindorian.org/2021/05/firmware-update-samsung-ssd-in-linux.html/ Now I haven't tried it yet...

Anyone getting this? - Cache Disk overheated
Thanks! That does seem to be the issue. Maybe I'll try to update the FW of the drive(s) if I can figure out how to do it safely. Changing the boot config seems easier though. But updated the FW is probably the better solution?? Jim

Anyone getting this? - Cache Disk overheated
Every once and a while I get this error reported Event: Unraid Cache disk temperature Subject: Alert [TOWER] - Cache disk overheated (84 C) Description: Samsung_SSD_980_1TB_******** (nvme0n1) Importance: alert Then a couple minutes later it returns to normal? I have two nvme disks and I see this (seemingly) random on either one. I don't think I've seen both at the same time. I see one of these every couple of days or so.. I find it hard to believe these are real.. Are they? Are they doing some sort of SSD cleanup? Jim

WD Blue Vs WD Red Plus....
Well my latest parity check caused some read errors on one of my older drives. So time to replace, I guess! I can get a 8T Blue for ~$120 Or a Ironwolf for ~$160 or a WD Red Plus for ~$165. Does it really matter if I get a Blue for a data disk? In the past I've shucked drive from externals.. But I see the Blue is cheaper and the reds are not that much more expensive than externals. I think they are all CMR. Thanks!

[Plugin] CA Fix Common Problems
The new test is saying my unraid_notify is corrupted. I can download it and it looks just fine? I'd post it here, but there is soo much I'd have to take out! (e-mails, passwords..) How do you want to debug?

nginx running out of shared memory
Damn! I was hoping that 6.10 would fix/address this like @Squid alluded to... Fingers crossed that whatever change they going to do wasn't put in yet...

nginx running out of shared memory
I, Normally, don't have main or dashboard open. For me, it's the docker window and a couple of the docker web interfaces. And in the past it was open web terminals (I only use putty now!). So I don't know if the 6.10 release will fix for all.. Fingers crossed that it will though!!! And I do hope that they are looking into this as it's slightly annoying... Not bad enough to bug them constantly... but always hoping for a post here from them saying that they found the issue! 🙂

nginx running out of shared memory
Is @limetech even looking at this? He chimed in a while ago and then crickets... There really a lot of us that have this issue. Now I don't know if this "a Lot" is still in the noise for the amount total unraid users so it's not a big enough issue... I've just had this happen twice last week... And then sometimes it goes for months without hitting this.. *sigh*

[Answered] Do I have to do anything after adding a drive to the cache pool?
Thanks! I just found this in the FAQ It mentions that I SHOULD see "no balance found on /mnt/cache" What was weird is I didn't see anything on the main page that said that a balance was in progress like I do when I add/replace a regular drive to the array... So I was a little worried... Glad all is good!
