  1. Well, that went smooth, and now the even the case model custom image was there after the reboot, great!!!
  2. How long is the upgrade expected to take, I'm currently runnig 6.7.2, and no VMs or dockers?
  3. Also, is it possible to get readings via SNMP from the UNRAID apcupsd ?
  4. Thanks, I found this guide on how to do it, and I installed it on my Openmediavault backup-NAS, it works great! https://www.pontikis.net/blog/apc-ups-master-slave-setup-apcupsd
  5. You mean here? http://www.apcupsd.org/manual/
  6. And also is it possible to set up APC UPS daemon to be able to control other servers to shut them down too in the event of power loss?
  7. Hi, I just installed my new UPS, APC Back-UPS 1400VA (BX1400UI), and was suprised how low the power consumption of my system is. Does this seem resonable for the system in my signature, the system is more or less idle, just a few seeding torrents reading from the array, but all disks are spun up?
  8. If there is a firewall setup to only allow connections from your local LAN you must also allow the devices from the remote LAN to connect.
  9. Yes, that is possible. And if you only want to connect one computer to your unraid server you don't even need to use a switch.
  10. Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to get Disk free for the whole array? I get disk free for each individual disk in the array I tried t clone one of the other Disk Free sensors and edit the mount point to /mnt/user, but it won't work This is what the sensors for my UNRAID looks like: Any ideas?
  11. Well, you can select which disk(s) each share should use, and if you want the disk(s) to be filled one after another you can use fill-up allocation method.
  12. How do you mean it's unresponsive, do you have a monitor ans keyboard connected, and can't even access the console?
  13. I got a old Nexus Edge case that I don't use anymore, it has 9x5.25" which could turn into 15x3.5". And then it has another 9x3.5" internally. Maybe that case could work?
  14. Ah, ok. Then we're neighbours, I'm from Sweden. I get much of my stuff from GG Serverparts here in Sweden, and here is the board I'm using: https://ggsp.se/supermicro/4642-supermicro-x10slm--ln4f.html , I don't know if they ship outside of Sweden, but it never hurts to ask if they do?
  15. Why don't you go for a more server oriented motherboard, perhaps with 4 onboard nics, and also IPMI. I have a two servers using Supermicro x10slm+-ln4f that I bought second hand, yes they are a bit old, but nice boards. They run Xeon E3-12xx v3 CPU and max 32GB DDR3. And usually your VPN service provider have guides on how to set up the VPN client in pfSense.
  16. Hi, Is it possible to sort the user names on the "Users" dashboard panel, they seems to be listed in the order they were added. But wouldn't it be more logical if they were sorted alphabetically, as they are sorted under Settings -> Users?
  17. Why not install for instance a pfSense VM, then you have a router with built in OpenVPN server, and client that you connect to your OpneVPN service provider.
  18. What comes to minde regarding chassis is Fractal design, node 304 which takes 6 drives and mini-itx motherborard, or node 804 that takes 10 drives and micro-atx motherboard. And yes pfSense runs both OpenVPN-server and client, and the whole ide of running the VPN client in pfSense is that you then can policy route the traffic to use what route you want it to use VPN or regular WAN, instead of runninng VPN clients on each machine you want tot use VPN. I have three OpenVPN clients in my pfSense so I can in a simple way select in what country I want my traffic origin from. But I run my pfSense on dedicated hardware.
  19. How much room do you have for the server, and also how many disks are you planning on adding? An about OpenVPN server, thet you set up in the pfSense.
  20. Hi, Are there any lists of fully working UPS models for UNRAID, as I understand all APC models with USB connection are supposed to work correctly. But it would be nice to know which other manumacturers models are working too.
  21. Exactly, so in reality the LCC might increase less if the drives would spin down more often, because as long as the drives are spun down ther will be no LCC?
  22. Mostly it's only the parity drive that spins down, the data drives aren't even always spinning once every day. I've increased the timer to 5 hours and we'll see how it goes. But would the spindown timer even affect this since my drives do Power-off retract / Load cycle count about once every 30 minutes, and the numbers have increased by 10 on all drives since I started this thread about 5 hours ago?
  23. Ok, all my drives use the default spin down delay, which is set to 3 hours. What is your settings? And yes, your numbers seems more normal to me, your power on hours are about 3 time more than mine, but Power-off retract count and Load cycle count are about 1/10 of mine.
  24. Ok, so you think this is not correctly reported, the power cycle count is 10 for Disk 1 to 3, and for disk 4 it is 5, and as you said power off retract count should never be greater than the number of power cycles. Also when I tried using idle3-tool to check what the idle3 timer is set to I get, and I get the same error for all drives: root@UNRAID:~# idle3ctl -g /dev/sde sg16(VSC_ENABLE) failed: Input/output error
  25. Hi, What's normal numbers on HDDs? I got 5 10TB WD Whites, and they look like this, do I need to worry about the numbers? sde - Parity: Power on hours: 2453 (3m, 10d, 5h) Power-off retract count: 3109 Load cycle count: 3109 sdb - Disk1: Power on hours: 2453 (3m, 10d, 5h) Power-off retract count: 3805 Load cycle count: 3805 sdd - Disk2: Power on hours: 2454 (3m, 10d, 6h) Power-off retract count: 3669 Load cycle count: 3669 sdc - Disk3: Power on hours: 2460 (3m, 10d, 12h) Power-off retract count: 3318 Load cycle count: 3318 sdf - Disk4: Power on hours: 398 (16d, 14h) Power-off retract count: 273 Load cycle count: 273
