I've had the exact same error for weeks.

It cools very well indeed! Mid 30s during a parity check, low 30s the rest of the time if all disks are spinning, 29-30 degrees if only a couple disks are spun up. This is with an ambient air temp of roughly 75 degrees. Server is presently in the open air, however will ultimately go in a closed cabinet at the bottom of my entertainment center. To be fair, yes, some disk do run slightly warmer than others, but its a difference of one or two degrees, usually. On a very hot day, or when the afternoon sun is on the side of the house with the room where the server lives, temps can creep up a little, but still stay below 33-35 degrees, and considering my electric bill every month, turning the air conditioning down isn't a feasible option. That room has a ceiling fan, and I find that keeping the ceiling fan on helps a bit with overall temps of all the equipment in that room. My criteria for exhaust fans are impossible -- massive air movement, no sound. Ha! I have a mix of SilenX models in there now (reds and whites) of the 120mm variety, and the new 200mm (my original post had the size incorrect) fans are Cooler Master Mega Flows. Ultimate plan is for four CM 200 fans in the server case, three fans (same size and model) in the bottom of my entertainment center, where the server lives, doing evac from the sealed lower cabinet portion. Incoming air for the lower portion of the entertainment center will be filtered, and the server will rest on a raised pedestal above the air filters, on a rubber mat. Disk seek noise was being transferred through the 5-in-3 docks, to the server case, to the wood of the entertainment center during testing. Low hums and various vibrations were present. So with a little woodwork on the entertainment center, the server will ultimately live in a fully vented, clean, quiet enclosure space. If fan noise penetrates through the air filter material, or through the three evac fan holes, I will simply install acoustic panels on the inside surfaces of the entertainment center cabinet to absorb some of the high frequency whirring from the fans. That vented cabinet is also home to my pfsense firewall, a gigabit switch, my cable modem, and a few UPS's. Those components will reside on an acoustically-isolated platform just above the air filters, so their own chassis fans will draw in cool, filtered air from the floor of the entertainment center, exhaust it into the cabinet, and then the three 200mm CMs will exhaust it from there. They will be mounted on the upper-back wall of said cabinet, so the natural rising of heat will assist them in moving heat away from the electronics. My case is an old Cooler Master Centurion 590. The four 200mm fans will be mounted on a new side panel fabricated out of 1/8" MDF or acrylic. Weather stripping along its edges will seal it to the server case, and the server case is already sealed completely from the previous build (rivet holes, screw holes, various useless vents manufactures insist on cutting into their cases, etc). So again, as referenced previously, literally 100% of the air brought into the case will travel across the disks in the 5-in-3 cages first. Total compliment of disks will be 15 data in three 5-in-3s, two parity mounted in the top two 120mm fan slots, two SSDs mounted on PCI brackets, and two additional 7200rpm 3.5" and 2.5" spinners for other general use, the 3.5" mounted to the rear 120mm fan slot and the 2.5" on a PCI bracket. I will use magnetic sheeting to partially or completely cover the 120mm fan holes to adjust vented airflow for the disks mounted in those locations, as necessary. The spinner mounted on a PCI bracket has vent holes in the bracket itself, so air can move past the attached disk. The SSDs I'm not worried about. If heat becomes an issue with this setup, I will build a hood to cover the four 200mm case fans and redirect their output directly out the back of the entertainment center. But as it stands now, I predict very high airflow for the new setup, and don't foresee and major issues with heat. And now I realize I've strayed quite far from the original topic. So, bottom line: removing the fans from the 5-in-3s, sealing my computer case, and having five (six) quiet 120mm fans exhaust air has worked marvelously well for the server sitting in the open air. Four new 200mm fans will be used instead once the server is removed from the open air and placed into an enclosure, to (theoretically) maintain the same cool temperatures.

I use three 5-in-3 iStarUSA cabinets in a little different way. My server case has five 120mm evac fans (technically six since my power supply vents out, not a pull-from-bottom config), and I removed the entire fan assembly from the iStarUSA cages. This removed noise and allows all five case fans to pull air directly through the front venting on the drive cages. The case is otherwise completely sealed, thus 100% of air that enters the case and is vented by the fans has to pass over the drives first. I am presently modifying the case to instead use 4 220mm fans for evac, increasing airflow and reducing noise. Will keep a very slow, quiet 120mm fan in the traditional rear position to vent CPU heat directly.

With regard to sab downloading a file, what does the prefix "PROPAGATED 234876 min" mean? Almost all of them are doing this now and none are downloading.

Running sab as root (not ideal) seems to have fixed it, temporarily. At least now I can get episodes for the wife before they get taken down while I try to figure this out.

I am half tempted to just start over from scratch. The only dockers I am running are sab, sonarr, and plex. I can rebuild all of it if necessary, or at least the sab/sonarr part. I am in the process of moving my media to a new server, but its going to take about a week to transfer it over the network. In the meantime I would like to continue to get media downloading; that media is stored on the old server that is being decomissioned. Thus sab and sonarr will continue to need the unassigned devices mapping to the old server. Permissions hadn't changed when the errors began, however now, of course, with all of my attempts to correct it, I've tried various permission changes here and there to no avail. First question: will running "new perms" on a system with dockers effect anything adversely? I am the primary user in the house, so of course my username is associated with nearly everything on the servers. Can the dockers run as nobody, or root (dangerous?), etc? I always get confused on this point, unix vs smb permissions, and I often have problems deleting files from certain shares as my username, usually having to log in from the command line as root to delete. What are the preferred,generic permissions for docker/sab/sonarr/media folders etc? Thanks.

Despite all attempts, I cannot change the mount point (the sab docker container mounts local "/mnt/disks/192.168.0.4_tv_shows" as its "/mnt/tv_shows" folder) permissions. Despite 777 permissions, sab still can't seem to write to this folder. Moreover, the file downloads, unpacks, and then the log shows the permissions error. Meanwhile, the downloaded file, unpacked files, etc (all of which appear to happen without issue) are nowhere to be found, anywhere, they literally are gone. So sab not only cannot unpack, but it nukes all of the working files even though the unpack failed. Thus, I can't even retrieve the files from the download or working folders and move by hand.

Nope, not working. chown'd everything to "bob:users" and sab is running as bob:users, still getting the same permissions error as above.

What I can't figure out is what the permissions on the folders and files SHOULD be, and how they got changed. /mnt/tv_shows is the container path that maps to /mnt/disks/192.168.0.4/tv_shows (mounted via SMB using unassigned devices from another unraid server) Right now the docker is running at "99/100" aka "nobody/users" because I had used chown and chmod to change the entire tree to nobody:users with 777 permissions in an attempt to fix. Prior to that, the docker was running as my 1000/100 aka my username/users. Permissions were 777 but some folders were owned by my username and some were owned my "plex" user (no idea how that happened but everything was working at the time.

My sonarr/sab installation continues to be a complete and total trainwreck. I am posting this in the sonarr forum because, using sickbeard and later sickrage, I never had these issues, so I assume its a sonarr issue, although I don't know for sure. As stated in previous posts, I continue to see duplicate folder names ("TV Show" "TV show" "tv show"), some of which contain duplicate episodes (some are simply empty except for show clipart and nfo files). Sometimes clip art will go in "TV Show" while the actual episodes will go in "tv show." I also continue to see dupes such as "TV-Show" and "TV Show" that are completely empty -- ie, shows added moments ago that haven't had anything downloaded yet, yet two, and sometimes three different directories have been created. I also have hundreds (literally) of dupes in the form of "S01E01.mkv" in the show's root directory, followed by a folder called "S01E01-obfuscated" etc with a file in that folder that is the exact same episode, only with an obviously obfuscated filename. I also have tons of dupes like "S01E01.mkv" "S01E01(1).mkv" "S01E01.mkv(1)" and "S01E01-(author's name).mkv' etc. Hundreds of dupes. I am literally spending hours a week going through thousands of episodes to find and remove dupes, organize directories, rename as needed, etc. It should be noted that sonarr is being specifically told that a show should go into "/tv_shows/show" and yet I have dupe episodes in "/tv_shows/show" as well as "/tv_shows/Show" with different download dates, often from the same author, but sometimes from different authors (same filesize and presumably same quality etc). Everything is all over the place and I am at a complete and total loss. I am using the same sab settings I've been using for five years. The only new addition, as of going on a year ago, is sonarr. I've tried nearly everything I can think of short of a complete and total reinstall of the docker. I am at my wit's end here. Any advice appreciated.

So does it automatically delete the lower-quality files? That's not happening, if it is.

sonarr is really stupid. Not stupid in the "its garbage," sense, but stupid in the "its dumb as a box of hammers" sense. I've had a show, complete, that is over 30 years old, on my server, for about four years. Tonight Sonarr downloaded almost every episode from almost every season. For a show I already have. And have had. For years. Complete. What the heck? (This happens all the time btw, usually one or two episodes at a time in almost all shows, after a few months I end up with a ton of dupes that I constantly have to seek out and find and remove) What setting is causing this?

The plastic piece on the back of the drive bay (the piece that can be removed to make room for a video card) can be notched very easily. A few guys have done it here, myself included. I used a dremel and a razor blade, literally took less than a minute and wasn't very difficult. I have an LSI card in my DS380, and with the notch cut, it fits perfectly. RE: fans. Cooling is the biggest problem in this case; the thousands of posts in the hundreds of threads spanned across the web, along with product reviews on various vendor sites, will confirm that. I added two additional fans on the opposite side of the case to blast air crossflow across the drives, and then have the fans in the stock locations doing evac duty. Even with this setup I have heat issues, although my server is in a cabinet (a cabinet that is vented with fans, but still an enclosed space). In open air I have no heat issues whatsoever, so I can't blame the case 100% on this. I am relegating this case to backup server duty. My main system is moving to a larger case with better cooling. My DS380 will sit in my garage with Nidec and Sunon fans where fan noise won't bother me, and will come on once a month to do an rsync with my main server, and then automatically shut down. Its a fantastic little case that requires some modification to make it better.

Is anyone having issues with sonar not finding missing episodes? When I tell it to "search all missing" I end up with somewhere between 2-5TB (yes, TB) of stuff to download, takes a few days, and finds thousands of missing episodes. I've done it three or four times now with the same result (a metric ton of missing episodes found, then downloaded). Why isn't it doing this on its own?

Guys I am still having an issue where sab (I think) is creating multiple directories. I am using sonarr as well and I'm not sure if its sab or sonarr. I also don't know how to tell for sure if sab is post-processing. As an example, I have these directories: Last Man Standing (2011) --- original directory with the majority of the content Last Man Standing 2011 --- Several duplicate episodes already contained in Last Man Standing (2011) Last Man Standing --- Also several dupes Last Man Standing US --- some dupes Last Man Standing Us --- some dupes Have no idea how to fix this, I've been dealing with it since I switched to dockers, many months now. All folders contain some shows. The (2011) is the original folder but is missing some recent episodes. The subsequent folders have varying quantities of newer episodes, most have dupes (ie S06E21 is contained in virtually every folder except the original) Thankfully Plex hides all this from the user and presents the entire series and only lists one "S06E21" episode, however disk space use is up due to dupes, and frankly its just messy any annoying. How can I completely disable post-processing in sab? I thought I already had, but this issue persists.

An honest question -- how do I tell?

This is still happening weekly if not daily. I am constantly having to go through my share and move files from duplicate (not exactly duplicate I guess) folder names to the correct ones. Still no idea what's causing this.

I'm not running any scripts, and just unchecked the box under "Sorting" labeled "Enable TV sorting" Its still doing it, which is a lot of work because Windows doesn't see the difference between "Show" and "show", so I am having to manually move files from the command line in unraid. Not a show-stopper, but still a PITA that wasn't happening before I started running it in a docker. There has to be a setting somewhere I'm missing. ETA disregard. I have re-checked "enable TV sorting" as files were going in /mnt/tv_shows/ not /mnt/tv_shows/show This is driving me crazy, every few days I end up with "/show", "/Show", "/Show 2012", "Show (2012)", "Show US" etc

I'm not sure, I'll have to check when I get home. With all the other issues I was having, I may a lot of changes inside sab. How can I make sure its not post processing?

Its working. One question. I actually had this same problem with sickbeard/sab, and then sickrage/sab, and now sonarr/sab. So I'm thinking its sab, but I gotta check. When I added shows in sonarr, it found each show in its respective folder. When I edit each show, it shows the correct path, let's say "Show1 (2016)" or "SHOW2" (note case) I am finding multiple folders now being generated. Some episodes download into "Show1 (2016)" and "SHOW2." Other shows are being downloaded into newly created folders, ie, "Show1 2016" (no parenthesis) or "show1 2016" (note case) or "show2" (note case) or "Show2" (note case). Any idea what's causing this? I am regularly having to move files into the correctly named folder (the one sonarr is configured to use) and then delete the newly created extra folders. Thanks.

Well its too early to tell, but one show just downloaded, PERFECTLY, except for one thing -- the obfuscated filename was renamed, unpacked into the show folder on the array, but not deleted from the /downloads/complete folder. If I can get that to happen automatically, everything will basically be 100%.
