  1. Hi All. Thank you for adding this plugin. Could you please add mcelog to the list of available packages? Thank you.
  2. Hi All, Thanks for the replies. Yes, I want to wipe everything :-) I want to start off from a clean slate. These is no data that I want to keep (actually, there is nothing that I need to keep). Not because of any issues, just want to do a completely fresh setup. So I assume that removing the contents of the /config folder (except for the .key file) would be the correct option?
  3. Hi All, I have an UNRAID server with a Pro license. I want to reset my setup back to defaults (ie. remove all plugins, shares, configs, etc.) and start from scratch again. What is the best way to do this? TIA
  4. Hi All, What are the best practices for preclearing a drive in unRAID? ie. Which operation to choose, and how many cycles to run? Would you use different options for new drives as opposed to 2nd hand drives? So far I have been using "Erase and Clear the Disk", running it for 3 cycles. Is this sufficient, or is it overkill? The reason that I ask, is that I have just run the preclear on a 6TB disk, and 1 cycle of "Erase and Clear the Disk" took 48 hours ... TIA
  5. Thanks to Partition Pixel for the effort to get this working and to the rest of the community for their in put. I am note sure if I missed this somewhere, but if someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. I am currently plotting to an unassigned device and it seems to be working fine. I want to start a 2nd (parallel) plot, but with a different temp directory (on a different unassigned device), but the same final temp directory. How would I go about doing this? I assume that I would have to create another path, pointing to the 2nd temp directory? Then, how do I start the docker to plot to the new temp directory? At present, I am opening the docker console and then starting the plot from there. Is there a better way of doing this?
  6. Hi All, I will soon be getting a Dell H310 controller, and I believe that to use it in Unraid, it needs to be flashed to IT mode. Can someone please confirm if the instructions contained in this link are still relevant and correct? https://tylermade.net/2017/06/27/how-to-crossflash-perc-h310-to-it-mode-lsi-9211-8i-firmware-hba-for-freenas-unraid/ Thank you.
  7. Hi All, I am planning on doing a hardware upgrade on my Unraid server. I will be upgrading CPU, MB and memory (and moving from Intel to AMD Ryzen). Are there any specific considerations that I should take note of when doing the upgrade? I plan on disabling the autostart of any VMs, dockers and the array before shutting down on the old hardware. Is it just plug and play from there? TIA
  8. Thanks @JorgeB Maybe I should rephrase my question then 🙂 Which cables are a decent quality and are known to work?
  9. Hi All, Can you please confirm if these are the correct cables to connect SATA drives to a H310 controller? AXXCBL850MS7R Intel Grizzly Pass cable kit https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/65842/cable-kit-axxcbl850ms7r.html Thank you.
  10. Thank you Squid. I have already requested photos. Where is the serial or serice tag number on the card?| Thank you.
  11. Good Day All, I am interested in buying a Dell H310 controller from a seller. How can I tell if the card is genuine or if it is fake? Unfortunately, I am unable to actually see the card in person as the seller is remote to me. This is the description as per the seller: "Dell PERC H310 HV52W 6.0Gb/S SAS / SATA RAID Controller" Thank you.
  12. Hi All. I am busy teaching myself docker and I need some help please. I have an image that I downladed and installed via CA. I see that the creator of the image has created the image with a specific CMD command. Is there a way for me to override this CMD command with my own custom command in Unraid? Or would I have to create a new image myself, upload it to Docker Hub and then install it via CA? Any help would be appreciated. TIA
  13. Hi All, I am struggling to understand how CPU Pinning and CPU Isolation work. Can you please confirm if I am understanding this correctly? If I have my set up like this: Does that mean the Unraid OS is only able to use CPUs 0 and 1 (and not 2 and 3), the first 4 VMs will only use CPU 1 and the last VM will have exclusive use of CPUs 2 and 3? Thank you for your help. 🙂
  14. @jpowell8672 : Thank you for your input. :-) Does anyone else have sellers that they can recommend? TIA.
  15. Hi All, I would like to expand/upgrade the number of SATA connections available in my unraid server. Can you suggest a good PCIE controller that is 'good bang for the buck'? I see many people talking about the Dell Perc H310 controller, flashed to IT mode. Is this a good option? Could you possibly also recommend a good (read trustworthy) Ebay seller to purchase a card and cables from? TIA.
  16. Thanks @testdasi The VM is a Home edition, so I cannot used RDP. I tried VNC Viewer (VNC Viewer 6.19.325), but this did not work either. Is there anything special that I need to configure to get it to work? TIA
  17. Hi All, I am new to unRAID and am having an issue with copying and pasting text into an unRAID Windows 10 VM. My VM is set up and running fine. I can't seem to copy text, from another Windows machine that is connected to the VM via a VNC session. If I copy the text and try and paste it into the VM session, nothing appears. Is there a special trick to get this to work? TIA
  18. Hi All, If I have an Unraid array with the following configuration: Parity 3TB Disk 1 2TB Disk 2 500GB What would the first High Water mark be: 1.5TB (3TB/2) or 1TB (2TB/2)? ie. I am trying to understand if the parity drive's capacity is part of the calculation. Thank you.
