JorgeB
Disk dropped offline, check connections and the disk should come back up after a power cycle, then run the SMART test. Quote Link to comment
Taza
Hey I will try that. System hasn't moved so not sure how cables can come loose. All I did was shut the system down before a storm came then booted up next day. It was unplugged so no chance of a spike Cheers Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Just the power cycle will likely bring the disk back (not a reboot), but might as well check/replace cables to rule them out. Quote Link to comment
Taza
How do I power cycle without reboot mate. will check cables tomorrow Cheers Quote Link to comment

Taza
Ok so I put new drive in and it was copying from parity and it failed so i have replaced the sata cable with new cable. The udma crc count from 2 to 12 and I went and ran the extended smart test and it came back interrupted by host... what Do I do now to try and get new drive to work. Will I need to pre clear it now that it's had data written to it Cheers Quote Link to comment

Taza
Yea could it be that sata port has crapped itself? Any way to test? Cheers Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Try a different one, or swap drives around and see if the issue remains with the port or drive. Quote Link to comment
Taza
Will that mess anything up in unraid If I change say drive 1 and put in that port? All 6 sata ports are used I've attached system logs Cheers tazserver-syslog-20210302-0931.zip Quote Link to comment

All 6 sata ports are used Unraid identifies the drives by Serial Number, not HW ports. Not issue in switching two drives. Quote Link to comment
Taza
Just now, ChatNoir said: Unraid identifies the drives by Serial Number, not HW ports. Not issue in switching two drives. Ok cool mate Will try. Will it crash out if a good drive goes to that port that's playing up as the other drive doesn't have the data resynced to it? So sorry for all the questions Quote Link to comment
Taza
I'm leaning to the sata port died. If it has what pcie sata card that's plug n play Cheers Quote Link to comment
