June 30, 20242 yr I'm thinking of using this container as a farmer. The port mappings look a little different. The default port that farmers seem to want is 8447, but I don't see that port opened in the container's config, only 8444 and 8555. Will I need to open another port or change the port in the harvester config?

Just modify the template, you can see latest docker vars here: https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-docker Unless you plan on running different keys on separate farmers (or some other niche requirement), you are better off running a harvester only service.
November 19, 2025Nov 19 Have a computer dedicated as Farmer & Harvester. Would like to move it to my Unraid server. Based on this comment am I better off virtualizing the entire machine to Unraid get this Harvester processed virtualized & add the Farmer to an existing VM?Will need some help getting the Chia-Docker up and running but that's only if it's worth standing up as it's own machine.
November 20, 2025Nov 20 The default config is for an all in one full node (node/farmer,harvester), this is the easiest way to get going. If you want to run the harvester separate its easiest to not give the full node access to plots, and set up a harvester only config as per Chia's config below.https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-docker?tab=readme-ov-file#configuration
