Corsain Posted July 12, 2021 Share Posted July 12, 2021 I recently bought 2 new 6tb drives. I added them to the array and one 6 tb drive is set for storage and the other is set for parity. It wont let me start the array even though the total drive space is equal. I attached the basics below Quote Link to comment

It isn't. Each parity disk is independent and contains none of your data. Parity by itself can recover nothing. Parity PLUS ALL other disks are required to rebuild a missing or failed disk. In the case of dual parity, you can recover up to 2 missing or failed disks at the same time but all the other disks are still required. Quote Link to comment
