I want to make my own private template repository, but it doesn't work.

Firstly sorry for my poor English. If cannot understand, please let me know, I'll try my best to explain out.

The question is I made a repository to store my onw private docker templates as other famous one, but I can't see my template list when adding a new docker container.

My repository url is https://github.com/coderge/unraid-docker-templates.

Not done this myself, but I'm pretty sure you need to have the template in a subfolder, the name of that subfolder becomes the header in the dropdown (like default, user etc).

 

Also be aware the feature is being removed in 6.10

I've tried subfolder and it also doesn't work. However there are some repositories such as https://github.com/digiblur/unraid-docker-templates do not have a subfolder.

When you use the subfolder method, you manage it via Community Applications.  The folder and files go onto the flash drive.  If you store things on GitHub, the organization there is entirely up to you.

Because it is extremely rare that someone actually uses them, due to the prevalence of CA.

You would have to copy (manually or otherwise) your template xml to:

/boot/config/plugins/dockerMan/templates-user/

 

That's how I'm doing it at the moment.

Thanks for the answer. I'm actually interested in the self-written Dockerfiles that I don't want to publish on Docker Hub. I don't have a private repository pro plan.

I answered the question myself. Install the DockerRegistry app in CA. It's a bit cumbersome for two Docker files, but it works.

Yes same for me, whatever name:tag you build locally using, you specify that in the template.

I usually build with a tagged version and latest simultaneously for simplicity.
