pieface_geek
Weell I think I need a new registration key. However, when I try it shows that the flash drive is ineligible. Quote Link to comment
trurl
If the new flash drive is ineligible it probably doesn't have a unique GUID. You will have to use a different one. Quote Link to comment
pieface_geek
So, I've been having some issues with the current flash drive. In fact, its been a few months since it started having errors. I finally got it to work but it crashed again. I had been you two different laptops (same flash drive) to try and repair it/get it to work properly but whenever I move the drive from one laptop to the other, it receives a different global id. That has been my issue. After registering it yet again, the drive failed. So I bought a new, which I can not register. Quote Link to comment

pieface_geek
Hmmm. So it might be ineligible right out the package? Quote Link to comment

It is a requirement that the flash drive have a unique (unchangeable) GUID to satisfy the Unraid licensing requirements. you mentioned the global Id changing - did you mean the GUID or something else? Do not see how the GUID could be changing as it is built into the hardware of the flash drive. Quote Link to comment
pieface_geek
Thats exactly what I mean. If I use a different laptop the guid changes. But as of now, I can't get anything to work. Not even my new flash drive, which is 32 GB. Way more than the required. I don't know whats wrong. Right now I'm desperate. I have so much tied up in these drives. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
What brand and model of flash drive is changing GUID? Could you please post a close up picture of the flash drive itself? Quote Link to comment
