Verschup76
Hi, Since a few weeks I am having issues with two devices in particular. One is showing up as unmountable after a reboot and the other is erroring out. For the latter I have bought a new drive and replaced it, I even selected a different drive, with the same result, that disk keeps erroring out. I have attached both Smart reports. Any help would be greately appreciated. Thanks, Pim tower-smart-20220715-0251.zip tower-smart-20220715-0329.zip Quote Link to comment

One of them looks fine and the other report didn't get any results. Probably connection problems. 2 hours ago, Verschup76 said: bought a new drive and replaced it Do you still have the original? Probably nothing wrong with it. 2 hours ago, JorgeB said: Please post the diagnostics. Quote Link to comment
Verschup76
Thanks for the quick response - no I haven't thrown it away as I assumed it was something else I've attached the diagnostics as requested. Kr, Pim tower-diagnostics-20220715-1629.zip Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Check filesystem on disk2, disk4 dropped offline, this is usually a power/connection problem, check/replace cables and post new diags. Quote Link to comment
Verschup76
I will have to buy some new cables and test again, but isn't it strange that for the new disk in 4, this is a new drive, a new cable and it was connected directly to my motherboard and not to the controller card, and still it errored out? I will run a filecheck again on disk 2 and post the diagnostic log later. Thanks. Edited July 16, 2022 by Verschup76 Quote Link to comment
Verschup76
So, as mentioned before, I got a new cable and connected my drive straight into my motherboard for disk4. The 8Tb drive (disk 2) is now working, so not sure what happened here. Disk4 is again erroring out, which makes no sense to me as it's not using the controller, I changed the power and sat cable. Is it possible that it's a power supply issue? I currently got an 320W power supply in my pc. Any more tips or sollutions would be greatly appreciated. Verschup76
It's a standard HP power supply in my hp elite 8200 silent home office model. Quote Link to comment

Arbadacarba
I ran into a problem where my parity drive was dropping out when I would bring a drive connected to my removable bay online... The two removable drives and the parity drive were connected to the same power cable off my 1000w PSU. I planned to install a capacitor in the power line but got lucky and simply connecting a separate power line from the same rail on the PSU did the trick. Any chance you've got something else coming online? Quote Link to comment

Verschup76
Hi, Got ya. Yes, I use a splitter. Seems like I have to order a new PSU. Thanks for all the help everyone on here, much appreciated and once I have gotten my new PSU I will post the result. Fingers crossed. Kr, Pim Quote Link to comment
Verschup76
I have bought the Evga 500 W1, 80+ White 500W, Power Supply 100-W1-0500-K3, Black with a power supply addapter (only got a CPU fan power error, but that's another issue and not Unraid related) and that seems to solve all my issues - thanks everyone for their input. JorgeB
Swap disk4 cables (both power and SATA) with a different disk, then see if the problem follows the disk or not. Quote Link to comment

I got a LSI 9211-8I PCI Express SAS/SATA HBA RAID Controller Card, 8-Port 6Gb/s, LSI SAS2008 Chip which controlls my other drives, my parity disk and this one are using the sata connectors directly from the motherboard. I have connected the drive using one of the connectors from the Raid controller and another power cable coming directly from the PSU, same problem. Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
If the issue followed the disk it's likely a disk problem. Quote Link to comment
